Nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts

Health & Safety
Summer should feel like an adventure, and at Primrose Burlington, it does. Summer Adventure Club runs July and August for children ages 5 and up, and our health and safety practices are built for what that actually means: active kids, summer heat, water play, and big energy in an environment that’s supervised, structured, and genuinely fun.
- Illness policy with no exceptions: Any child or staff member with a fever goes home and stays home until fever-free for at least 24 hours. No gray areas, even in summer.
- Daily sunscreen application before outdoor time: Every child receives sunscreen before heading outside each day. Sun protection isn’t optional or parent-dependent, we handle it.
- Wednesday water play with safety supervision: Sprinkler play happens every Wednesday in a supervised outdoor environment. Children are monitored throughout, and the area is prepared before play begins.
- High-touch surfaces sanitized throughout the day: Toys, tables, and shared surfaces are disinfected continuously, including outdoor equipment used during water play.
- Handwashing at every transition: Before meals, after outdoor play, after water activities, handwashing is consistent and practiced, even in summer mode.
- CPR and first aid certified, every staff member: Every Summer Adventure Club staff member holds current CPR and first aid certification. All of them, not just some.
- Illness awareness children can act on: At 5 and older, children know how to recognize when something feels off and how to tell a trusted adult. We reinforce that all summer.
- A Safe School Plan in every space: Our customized Safe School Plan, developed in partnership with Burlington Police Department, is current, posted, and trained on, so staff know exactly what to do, every time.
