- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Our Transitional Kindergarten Classroom Teachers & Staff

Sabrina Sigmon
Hello! My name is Sabrina. I graduated from Stebbins High School and have experience working in classroom settings, assisting teachers, and supporting classroom management during high school. I love creating a positive and engaging environment for children to learn and grow.
One of my favorite things about working with children is their positive attitudes and energy — it’s so rewarding to play a part in shaping their early experiences and supporting their growth.
My favorite holiday is Christmas, and one of my favorite family traditions is having simple but special dinners together during the holidays, especially at Christmastime.
Taniyah Howard
Hi! My name is Taniyah, and I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I graduated from Central State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I have experience working with children ages 5–12 through YMCA and YMCA B/A care programs. I love making learning fun and watching children learn, grow, and make progress. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy coloring, painting, singing, dancing, playing video games, and going to the gym. My favorite children’s book is The BFG, and I enjoy taking road trips with my family.
