Hello! My name is Michelle Diehl and I am the Director at the new Primrose of Overland Park. I came to Primrose with over 13 years of experience in Early Childhood Education. I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Ottawa University with a minor in Early Childhood Education. I am the oldest of 4 children and am a proud Aunt of two nephews and two nieces! They are the true loves of my life, along with my spoiled Cocker Spaniel, Herbie. Recently, I began looking for a position with a company whose mission was to create an environment in which children could flourish. Upon finding Primrose, I was very impressed with the facilities and the Balanced Learning Approach that their curriculum encompasses. I am passionate about teaching children and believe that Primrose’s curriculum and high standards provide unlimited possibilities for your children. The curriculum is fun and exciting for the children while at the same time maintaining developmentally appropriate activities for each age group. I look forward to ensuring that the Primrose School of Overland Park creates an environment where children flourish, both educationally and socially, and where health and safety remain our number one priority. Hi! My name is Lisa Black and I am originally from Nova Scotia, Canada. I have always been interested in teaching and education since I was a young child. From a young age, I would play school with my three younger brothers! When I graduated from high school and university in Canada, I decided to go to university in Maine to earn my degree in Education. From there, I moved to South Korea and taught English for nine years. While in Korea, I met my husband, Jim, and that is what brought me to Kansas. We now live in Lenexa with our cats Tiger Lily and Stanley. I am so happy to be here and begin a career with the Primrose School of Overland Park!

My name is Amanda Baron and I am the Curriculum Coach for the Primrose School of Overland Park. I graduated from Emporia State University in 2008 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I was a preschool teacher for over sixteen years and have experience with infants up to 5th grade. I have always enjoyed teaching younger aged children as every day is a new experience and full of new discoveries. In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, walking the local trails, and spending time with my family and friends.

Mrs. Collins is coming back to our school after taking a leave of absence for a few years.  She previously worked with our Preschool students for several years when we first opened. Before coming to Primrose she worked in a preschool setting for over ten years.  She has also spent six years teaching in the public school system.  Mrs. Collins earned her B.A. in Elementary Education from Mid-America Nazarene and is the proud mother to four children and two dogs. In her free time she enjoys playing games and spending time with her family.

Hi!  My name is Chef Curt and I have been working at the Primrose School of Overland Park since March 2013.  I graduated with my degree in Early Childhood Education from Fort Scott University.  In my spare time I LOVE watching our KC Royals, the KC Chiefs and Sporting KC!

Hello!  I have been working as an Early Childhood Educator for 17 years.  My passion is Infants because I know how important the early months of a child’s life are.  I love to sing and quite often get caught making up silly songs throughout the day.  When I am not at work, I am busy with my teenage son, Michael.  I am also very active in my church.  I am excited to get to know each of our families and build a partnership in the education, care and development of every child in my classroom!

Hi, I am Thadylesh (aka as Chimo).  I am eighteen years of age and have lived in Kansas City my entire life.  I live with my parents and my older brother.  In my free time, I enjoy kickboxing and being a collector.  I enjoy collecting Funko Pop and merchandise from my favorite show.

I am from Hays, KS.  I have been working in childcare for over seven years.  I love creating bonds with young children and their families!  I am married to my wonderful husband and together we have a two-year-old daughter, Lennon.  In my spare time, I enjoy shopping, spending time with my family, watching movies and crafting!

Hi!  I am a Young Toddler teacher.  I have worked with kids since I was a teenager; nannying and babysitting.  I am from Indiana.  I recently just graduated from college where I earned my Associates Degree in Specialized Business. I attended school in Pennsylvania right outside of Pittsburgh.  In my spare time, I like to spend time with my fiancé and create art.  I am the proud mom of the sweetest little boy named Austin.  I also have 3 cats (Muffin, Midnight & Tiny) and 1 dog (Buck).  My absolute favorite thing about working with young children is how they always manage to put a smile on my face and make me giggle!

Hi!  My name is Ms. Melina and I am super excited to be helping our littles learn and grow this year!  Some fun facts about me are that I love to be outside doing anything and everything and that I am also passionate about nutrition and fitness.  I have been babysitting and nannying most of my life and I am so excited for my first year of teaching in a preschool setting!

Hi!  I am passionate about working with children to help nurture their creativity and build their confidence:  fostering their growth in a way that supports both their personal and professional development.  I have worked with children in various capacities for approximately three years.  In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, knitting, baking, reading and playing games with friends.

I am so honored to be a part of the Primrose Team! Growing up, I always had a passion for people thanks to my dad showing me the significance of community.  Community leads to compassion and compassion leads to family, which is my goal here at Primrose!  I’ve been working in childcare for about four years and I have loved every second of it.  I find admiration in being able to guide children to their full potential.  When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my four dogs (Dazey, Niah, Cali & Rosie).  We also make our way to the shelter every week to help our furry friends in need!

Hi!  I am currently attending UMKC #RooUP.  Working with children and with Primrose will give me valuable skills that I will be able to use for a lifetime.  I have always loved working with children.  Learning to adapt quickly and calmly has become a skill I am proud to say I owe this all to children I have taught.  After graduating from UMKC I plan to start working in medical device sales.  Until then, I am so excited to fulfill my passion for working with kids!

Hello!  I am an Early Preschool Teacher at the Primrose School of Overland Park.  I live in Overland Park with my fiancé and my dog Moose.  We enjoy going on walks and spending time at the dog park.  The thing I love the most about Primrose is how welcoming and friendly everyone is here.  I am so excited to be a part of this upcoming school year, and I can’t wait to meet all of the students and their families!

I am from Mexico and love working with children of all ages!  I am ready to learn, grow and have fun!  At Primrose, we’re more than a team of child care specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though they are our own. Hello!  This is my fourth school year at Primrose.  I have always felt fulfilled being around children.  I have a very deep love for my three cats, Taz, Gus and Twixy.  I enjoy spending my spare time watching movies with my husband and snuggling my cats.  I am so excited to get to know your child as well as your family this year!

Hi!  I was born and raised in Wichita, KS and am the youngest of three older brothers.  After graduating from high school, I pursued my education at the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk!)  During my time at KU, I was able to see the Jayhawks win the 2022 championship in New Orleans, experience Super Bowl wins on Mass Street, and met my best friends in the process.  I graduated from KU in 2023 and then moved to Overland Park shortly after and I am enjoying my time here!

I am the Explorers Teacher at the Primrose School of Overland Park.  I also help in the Kindergarten classroom and in other classrooms when the Explorer students are in school.  I love working with the school-age students getting to know them, hearing about the creative things they do, playing backgammon & goldfish and sharing cool facts about the world around us!  Did you know that dolphins sleep with only half of their brains at a time?! Working with this age makes me happy and ensures that no day is as the same adventure as the last!
