Our Preschool Pathways Classroom
Our Preschool Pathways program provides a “bridge” between our Early Preschool and Preschool classrooms for children whose birthdays will ultimately miss the cutoff date for kindergarten entrance. By identifying those children early, we can help them stay with a consistent group of peers through preschool, pre-K and kindergarten.
Nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®

Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
Our Preschool Pathways Classroom Teachers & Staff

Ms. Angie Lopez- Almendarez
Hello! My name is Ms. Angie, and I love working with children of all ages. Teaching is more than just my career—it’s my passion. I enjoy creating a caring, engaging, and positive learning environment where every child feels valued, encouraged, and inspired to grow.
Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering at my local church, where I serve as a Sunday School teacher and leader. Working with children both in and out of the classroom allows me to make a positive impact while helping them build confidence, kindness, and a love for learning.
I look forward to partnering with your family and making this a wonderful year filled with learning, laughter, and growth!

Ms. Lyra Cumming
Hello, my name is Lyra-Akina Cumming, and I am excited to be part of your child’s learning journey!
I am a proud U.S. Navy veteran with over 12 years of experience working with children ranging in age from 3 months to 9 years old. After spending time working in the public school system, I am thrilled to return to the age group where my passion for early childhood education first began.
I look forward to spending each day helping your children build the foundational skills they need to be successful in preschool and beyond. My goal is to create a nurturing, engaging, and supportive classroom where every child feels valued, confident, and excited to learn.
In addition to being an educator, I am also a proud mom of three, which has strengthened my understanding of the importance of providing children with a safe, caring, and enriching environment.
I can’t wait to get to know you and your family, and I look forward to a wonderful year together!
