Our Preschool Pathways Classroom

Our Preschool Pathways program provides a “bridge” between our Early Preschool and Preschool classrooms for children whose birthdays will ultimately miss the cutoff date for kindergarten entrance. By identifying those children early, we can help them stay with a consistent group of peers through preschool, pre-K and kindergarten.

Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Requiring any children or staff with fever to return home and stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours
Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
Frequent handwashing by children and staff, embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
Individual cots and blankets provided for each child, laundered weekly
Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
Monthly emergency drills to ensure children and staff are prepared for emergencies

I’m Ms. Roundtree and I wanted to tell you a little about myself! I love learning just as much as I love teaching. I have studied and know words and phrases in Dari and Spanish! I love learning new languages. I also enjoy working with books, I bind fanfiction and rebind published work with custom covers! I absolutely love helping others, kids, and adults alike! I am a trained doula and lactation counselor. At Primrose, we’re more than a team of child care specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though they are our own. Like your home, our school provides a secure, nurturing environment that fosters self-discovery and a love of learning. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family.

Pathways Silly Stories!☀️ Today for Wonder Time 1 the Pathways students drew pictures on top of the sun and sky on their paper to tell a silly story! They drew silly faces on the sun and laughed together listening to all the silly stories!🤣☀️🌅 #PrimroseProud

Modeling Dough Play!

Pathways modeling dough sensory play! The students strengthened their hand grip and exercised their fine motor skills by creating different shapes with the modeling dough. They worked on creating a ball, snake, and rolling the dough flat! They were encouraged to explore different textures and create something they loved! #PrimroseProud

Making Salt Dough!

Making Salt Dough! The students created their own sensory salt dough! They each put some food coloring into the bag and used their fingers and hands to move around the food coloring, mixing it into the dough!😊 #PrimroseProud

Social Emotional Learning!

Feelings and emotions with Erwin the dog! The students looked at different emotion cards and chose one that represented how they felt! The students then went to the writing center and wrote/drew the emotion that they chose! Identifying and naming how we are feeling helps us feel understood and comfortable in the classroom!🐶😊💛 #PrimroseProud

Belongingness Butterfly Project!

What better way is there to celebrate belongingness than with a school-wide art project? Our young artists explored their creativity by making a school butterfly! The students worked together by creating a collage with different colored tissue paper! Each students uniqueness and creativity makes each one of us glow! We decided to place our belongingness butterfly on the front window to show how the sun shines through the colors just like how our differences make us shine!❤️🦋🎨 #PrimroseProud #Belongingness

Thumbs Up!

Thumbs up with Mia the Mouse! The students used their gross motor skills to go through an obstacle following Mia! They first balanced on blocks, then walked with a bean bag on their head, and lastly they jumped from marker to marker until the finish line! Good work everyone!🐭🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼 #PrimroseProud
