Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Mrs. C
I’m Mrs. C and I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I have been a teacher here at the Primrose School of Shawnee since August of 2020 and I have been a teacher in the Kansas City area for over 12 years. My goal each day for our classroom is that the students learn, feel safe, and have fun. I own a small in-home bakery called Pretty in Peach Bakery! My favorite color is green and my favorite animals are elephants and turtles. I love my job and the opportunity I get each year to build trusting relationships with my students and their families. At Primrose, we’re more than a team of child care specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though they are our own. Like your home, our school provides a secure, nurturing environment that fosters self-discovery and a love of learning. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family.
Miss J
I’m Miss J, and I wanted to share a little bit about myself! I’m a high school graduate and have spent the past three summers working with the Unified Government summer programs. I’ve always enjoyed being around children and getting to know their unique personalities, and I love the opportunity to make a positive impact in their lives while encouraging their curiosity and helping them learn and grow. A few fun facts about me: I have a kitten named Peanut! In my free time, I love watching movies, and spending time with my friends and family. I’m excited to be part of your child’s learning journey and to create fun, meaningful experiences with them each day! At Primrose, we’re more than a team of child care specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though they are our own. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family!
Miss S
I’m Miss S and I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I have played volleyball for almost a decade, and enjoy staying active on a team. In my free time I enjoy doing peoples nails. I have some experience nannying but Primrose is my first child care setting experience. One of my favorite trips I have ever been on was going to the Bahamas with my family. My favorite thing about working with children is getting to know each child and having fun with them. At Primrose, we are more than a team of child care specialists.
