Through purposeful play, meaningful questions and direct instruction, our Preschool teachers encourage your child to think in new and different ways. Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
Our Preschool Classroom Teachers & Staff
Ms. Klotz
We are pleased to announce Ms. Klotz as our Apple of Our Eye for the month of November! Ms. Klotz comes to the Primrose School of Shawnee with 18 years of teaching experience. Ms. Klotz has three boys and three dogs at home. They have a standard poodle named Daisy, a mini golden doodle named Copper, and a rat terrier named Goose. Her favorite thing about being a teacher is building connections with her students and families while creating a solid foundation for becoming a life-long learner. When she is not teaching, she enjoys reading, puzzles, bowling, and playing cards with friends. She loves to travel, is family oriented, and is very active in her church. Her favorite food is Sushi or Mexican food and an interesting fact about Ms. Klotz is that she was quite the adventurist when she was younger. She jumped off a thirty five foot cliff into the Colorado River when she was 18. Ms. Klotz has fit right into the school and is doing an amazing job with the students in her class and implementing curriculum. We are so happy to have Ms. Klotz as a part of our Primrose School of Shawnee family!
Ms. K
I’m Ms. K and I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I have worked in childcare for 18 years! I have three sons sages 7, 9, and 12. We love to spend time discovering new parks to play at together. I have a degree in Elementary Education from Kansas State University. My favorite thing about working with children is making connections with them. At Primrose, we’re more than a team of child care specialists. We’re also a family, and we care for every child as though they are our own. Like your home, our school provides a secure, nurturing environment that fosters self-discovery and a love of learning. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family.
