Franchise Owners
Tommy and Anna Thompson & Kimberly Graham
Tommy and Anna Thompson have been Primrose owners since 2013. When expecting their first child in 2012, Tommy and Anna looked around Austin for childcare and fell in love with the balanced approach to early childhood education that Primrose offered and decided to go all in, not just enrolling but becoming Primrose owners. All three of their children have now graduated from Primrose and are thriving in elementary and middle school.
From many years as Primrose parents and Primrose owners, they believe in the excellence that Primrose delivers on a daily basis, encompassing the whole child’s learning and character development. The Thompsons now have four schools in the Austin area, although the Four Points school is where you’ll find them most days. In 2022, they were Primrose’s Franchisees of the Year from this region, recognizing school excellence. They have served on the national advisory council, on the national education committee, on the national facilities committee, on the local Primrose school owner cooperative board, as a training school host for new franchise owners, and as advocacy chair for Austin during their years at Primrose.
When the Thompsons opened the Primrose School of Pflugerville, Kimberly Graham joined the team as the school director. After working closely together for six years, she joined them in ownership of that school in 2022 and in ownership at the Four Points school in 2025. She’s a certified teacher with twenty years of experience in early childhood education. She brings a deep knowledge of education and childhood development to the Primrose School of Four Points team.
Tommy is a Longhorn (Hook ‘em) and an avid sports fan – he will want to know all your favorite teams! Anna graduated from the University of Kansas and is an avid reader and volunteer with the Junior League of Austin, CASA of Travis County, and the Austin Ed Fund. As a family, they love to travel and play board games together. Kimberly is also a parent to three children (21, 15, 12), the youngest of which is a Primrose graduate. In her free time, you can find her painting and drawing or playing taxi to her busy 15 and 12 year old that still live at home. Kimberly, her husband Matt, and their family enjoy comedy shows, hiking and travel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?
Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?
Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.
How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?
All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm.
How do you keep parents informed about their child's day?
Connecting school to home is one of the ways we help children thrive. We use the Procare app to share daily updates and photos so you stay connected to your child’s joy, learning and special moments
Do you offer a summer program?
Yes! In addition to our year-round classrooms for children ages 0–5, we offer Summer Adventure Club for elementary school students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our summer program uses hands-on activities and rotating weekly themes to keep children engaged while continuing to support their development.
How do you accommodate children with allergies or special medical needs?
Health and safety is our top priority, and we work closely with families to accommodate allergies and medical needs. We ask that parents provide detailed information during enrollment so we can create a safe plan for their child. All Primrose schools are nut-free facilities.
What is your policy for school closures?
We follow a structured calendar with planned days off communicated in advance for the year. For any unexpected closures — including weather-related closures — we will communicate them as early as possible.
What security measures are in place at drop-off and pick-up?
The safety of your child is our top
priority. Our school uses a secure bluetooth system that gives individual permission for entry to authorized parents and staff, allowing for more security than a shared keypad system. Only people authorized by parents/guardians are permitted to pick up a student, and each new person picking up must present their photo ID for verification.
Do you offer any enrichment programs?
Do you offer any enrichment programs? Yes! Primrose School of Four Points offers enrichment
experiences including music, art, character development, and more — all woven into our curriculum. Primrose’s Harmony and Heart music program starts in infants and extends through Pre-Kindergarten, with students accessing instruments and other supports for learning foundational music concepts such as rhythm and tone. The music draws on familiar favorites and ideas (we love the firetruck song!) but also incorporates songs from around the world. Our approach to art includes both opportunities for open-ended process-based art and art projects where students study a famous artist or children’s illustrator to understand their techniques and materials and then put those ideas into practice. Our Happy Hearts character development program uses puppets, accompanying books and activities to teach important character traits like honesty, caring for others, and citizenship in age-appropriate and accessible ways. Preschool and Pre-K students have the opportunity to participate in rotating enrichment activities, which can include screen-free coding, zoology, piano, chess and more. These activities are all included in tuition. Parents may also choose to enroll their students in onsite tumbling or sports programs or in our partnership with the nearby dance studio.
What ages do you serve?
Do you offer parent-teacher conferences or progress updates?
Are meals and snacks provided?
Yes, our school provides nutritious meals and snacks, and it’s all
included in tuition! We can accommodate many common allergies and dietary restrictions (such as vegetarian) within our menu, and can partner with families with restrictions to develop a plan to meet their needs. We are so fortunate to have an incredible and experienced chef who prepares a variety of delicious in house prepared meals with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. A sample day’s menu might include homemade zucchini bread with fresh strawberries for morning snack, turkey pasta bake with spinach salad and fresh blueberries for lunch, and carrots, whole grain crackers and house-made ranch for afternoon snack. Milk is served with morning snack and lunch. The menu is always available to our infants when they are ready to introduce table foods, and we partner with infant parents as they introduce and try new foods. Our school is nut free.
Do you offer field trips?
Do you offer different types of outdoor spaces?
Yes! We believe fresh air and hands-on exploration are essential parts of a well-rounded early childhood education. We have four spacious playgrounds onsite, with natural grass and lots of shade. Infants – pre-k and Explorers (school-age) have twice daily outside time. Additionally, students have fun on our splash pad in the summer months and take care of our onsite garden year-round. When the weather doesn’t allow us to go outside, we have many different indoor gross-motor activities to meet the active needs of young children.
Do you offer after school care for elementary-aged children?
Do you help with potty training?
Yes, we believe potty training is most effective when a child is developmentally ready and when school and home work together as consistent partners. We build excitement at school about potty training through celebrations of success, offering opportunities to sit on the potty and get comfortable, and reading books about the potty. Before starting the active potty training process, we do a parent-teacher conference so we can all be on the same page and then continue to communicate through the process.
Are you an accredited school?
Do you teach languages other than English?
Yes, in our younger classrooms, we teach American Sign Language to help students develop communication skills. We frequently see students sign before saying words and develop a wide variety of signs by the age of two. We give parents a set of the most frequently used signs for reference so that the sign language can carry over to home. In our older classrooms, we introduce conversational Spanish. Many of our teachers are bilingual and include Spanish throughout the day in songs and conversation as well.
We are expecting a baby. When should we look at childcare?
Congratulations! We recommend exploring childcare options as early as possible. Our infant class is small (only 8) and led by Ms. Lupita, who has been with us since 2015 and Ms. Sonia, who has been with us since 2019. These loving, bilingual teachers are in demand!
What is the enrollment process like?
Many families start here, researching us online first. After that step, we invite you to call us with additional questions or schedule a tour of our school so you can meet our leadership team and teachers and see the school for yourself. After a tour, registration can be completed online in less than ten minutes. Before you start, we host a parent orientation for new families to review the practical details of school (how drop off and pick up work, what to bring, etc) to ensure a smooth start. We will also send you the enrollment paperwork to complete online as well. Students are also invited to join orientation to meet their new teachers and build excitement about starting school. We are here through the process to answer questions!
Do you participate in the childcare scholarship program (through TWC) or Childcare Aware?
How can families be involved at Primrose?
We love welcoming families into our school community! Throughout the year, families are invited to participate in classroom and schoolwide experiences that help children feel connected, celebrated, and supported.
Each month, families may share a special celebration, holiday, or tradition that is meaningful to them. Parents are also invited to volunteer for field trips, classroom parties, and special events. We host many family events throughout the year, including holiday celebrations, parades, classroom showcases, our carnival, and more.
Families also help us recognize and celebrate our wonderful teachers, and we offer regular opportunities for parents to read to their child’s class. We believe strong family partnerships make our school community even more meaningful for children.
