Our Early Preschool Classroom

Many 2-year-olds want to do everything by themselves. And why not? It’s their way of experimenting and learning to understand the world. Early Preschool teachers provide a safe, nurturing environment where your child can explore and stretch their talents to the fullest all while building self-confidence. Your child will have fun every day as they play and learn important academic skills, social skills and more.

Soumi S.
Early Preschool 2 Teacher

My name is Soumi Sen, and I have had a deep passion for teaching since childhood. I truly enjoy working with young children and find great joy in helping them learn, grow, and discover the world around them. Teaching has always felt like a natural calling for me, and I find it both rewarding and inspiring.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Science, which has provided me with a strong foundation to support my journey in education. Alongside my love for teaching, I am also deeply involved in artistic activities. Painting is one of my favorite hobbies—I enjoy expressing my thoughts, emotions, and imagination through colors and brushstrokes. Whether working on canvas or creating simple sketches, art brings me peace and fulfillment.

Music is another important part of my life. I often listen to music to relax, especially while painting or unwinding after a busy day.

When it comes to food, I enjoy trying new dishes, but my favorite comfort meals are traditional home-cooked Bengali recipes, filled with flavors passed down through generations.

I feel most at peace in nature—surrounded by greenery, flowing rivers, or the calm beauty of the mountains. These serene places inspire both my creativity and my art.

Some of my favorite children’s books are The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle.

My name is Jenny. I wanted to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Vietnam. In 2014, I decided to move to Toronto, Canada, where I studied and graduated achieving a degree in  Early Childhood Education. I have been working with children since 2017. I like to work with children and be able to make a positive difference in the future for the children I connect with. I realize that becoming an Early Childhood Educator is rewarding work. It is not only transferring knowledge and performing in the classroom, but also educating, supervising, caring, and understanding. When I connect with children, I feel excited to play and take care of them

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
This quote has guided me throughout my career, and it reflects how I approach every opportunity with passion and purpose. My name is Diana R and I’ve always felt called to work with children—whether through volunteering or in professional settings.

In middle school, I volunteered at my local Boys & Girls Club and YMCA, which deepened my love for working with kids. During my senior year of high school, I became an ABA therapist for a year—an experience that taught me so much about child development, behavior, and the importance of individualized care. It confirmed what I already knew: working with young children is the path I was meant to follow.

I believe that my impact on this world will be through helping children learn, grow, and develop into confident, kind, and curious individuals.

I was raised in San Jose, California and one of my favorite things about working with children is experiencing their pure, contagious happiness—it brings so much joy to each day. Growing up, my favorite books were The Berenstain Bears collection—I had them all and loved reading them over and over. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the cozy atmosphere and the sense of love and togetherness that fills the air.

Cultural traditions are an important part of my life. My family takes great pride in our Native American roots as members of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. One of our most cherished family traditions is celebrating birthdays. I come from a large family with 19 siblings, including myself, and we go all out to make each birthday feel extra special.

In my personal time, I enjoy being in nature—especially exploring rivers and occasionally going for a swim in places like Santa Cruz, Monterey, or Los Gatos. I also love traveling and seek out opportunities to visit new places, whether it’s by train or plane. Music is another big part of my life. My taste is broad, and I’m always open to new sounds—I never turn down a song request!

Early Preschool 1 Teacher

Hi! I’m Ms. Veena, and I’m so excited to be part of the Primrose School community. Originally from New Delhi, India, I hold a Bachelor of Education degree and am passionate about creating nurturing and inclusive environments where children can grow and thrive. I truly enjoy building meaningful relationships with each child and supporting their development through creativity, curiosity, and care.

Before moving to San Jose, California, I spent eight years living in Sweden, where I had the wonderful opportunity to work as a substitute teacher in Swedish primary schools for one year. That experience laid a strong foundation for my journey in early childhood education and deepened my appreciation for guiding young learners as they explore the world around them.

Outside of the classroom, some of my favorite things include relaxing on the weekends, visiting the beach, and shopping. I love food from my home culture—especially Chole Bhature—and one of my all-time favorite children’s books is Pippi in the South Sea. If I had to choose a Primrose character I relate to most, it would be Billy the Duck, and what I’m most looking forward to this school year is supporting each child’s personal development and getting to know everyone in the community!

Hi, I’m Claudia, and I’m excited to share a little about myself with you. I have four years of experience working in child care and am a fully qualified teacher. What I love most about working with children is building meaningful bonds with each child and their family, and I truly enjoy all the funny and heartwarming stories they share every day. I believe in creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn and grow.

One of my favorite children’s books is Corduroy by Don Freeman because it highlights friendship, belonging, and love. My favorite holidays are Christmas and Halloween, as they bring so much joy and excitement. At home, we speak Spanish, and I have two pets: Milou, my Golden Retriever, and Mellow, my Bearded Dragon. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my sister or going on walks with my dog. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
