“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
This quote has guided me throughout my career, and it reflects how I approach every opportunity with passion and purpose. My name is Diana R and I’ve always felt called to work with children—whether through volunteering or in professional settings.
In middle school, I volunteered at my local Boys & Girls Club and YMCA, which deepened my love for working with kids. During my senior year of high school, I became an ABA therapist for a year—an experience that taught me so much about child development, behavior, and the importance of individualized care. It confirmed what I already knew: working with young children is the path I was meant to follow.
I believe that my impact on this world will be through helping children learn, grow, and develop into confident, kind, and curious individuals.
I was raised in San Jose, California and one of my favorite things about working with children is experiencing their pure, contagious happiness—it brings so much joy to each day. Growing up, my favorite books were The Berenstain Bears collection—I had them all and loved reading them over and over. My favorite holiday is Christmas because of the cozy atmosphere and the sense of love and togetherness that fills the air.
Cultural traditions are an important part of my life. My family takes great pride in our Native American roots as members of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe. One of our most cherished family traditions is celebrating birthdays. I come from a large family with 19 siblings, including myself, and we go all out to make each birthday feel extra special.
In my personal time, I enjoy being in nature—especially exploring rivers and occasionally going for a swim in places like Santa Cruz, Monterey, or Los Gatos. I also love traveling and seek out opportunities to visit new places, whether it’s by train or plane. Music is another big part of my life. My taste is broad, and I’m always open to new sounds—I never turn down a song request!
