Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with fever to return home and stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
- Monthly emergency drills so children and staff are prepared for emergencies

Meet Ms. Jahalah Pettigrew
Lead Transitional Kindergarten Teacher | Primrose School of Breckinridge Park
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education | Primrose Team Member Since 2022
Ms. Jahalah Pettigrew is a dedicated, degreed early childhood educator who leads our Transitional Kindergarten classroom with passion, expertise, and a commitment to preparing children for a successful transition to kindergarten. Since joining the Primrose family in 2022, she has inspired young learners through engaging, purposeful instruction and a nurturing classroom environment where every child can thrive.
With a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Ms. Pettigrew brings both knowledge and experience to her classroom. She creates meaningful learning opportunities that strengthen children’s academic, social, emotional, and problem-solving skills while fostering confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Her warm, encouraging approach helps every child feel valued, supported, and excited to discover new things each day.

Serving Our Transitional Kindergarten Classroom | Joined in 2024
Ms. Adena Meskowski brings enthusiasm, patience, and a passion for helping young learners grow in our Transitional Kindergarten classroom. Since joining our Primrose family in 2024, she has supported our students as they build the academic, social, and emotional skills needed for a successful transition to kindergarten.
Ms. Meskowski enjoys creating meaningful learning experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, and independence. She loves celebrating each child’s accomplishments, whether it’s mastering a new concept, developing problem-solving skills, or building lasting friendships. Through hands-on activities and nurturing relationships, she helps foster a positive and engaging classroom environment where every child feels supported and valued.
