Ms. Sandhya
Meet Ms. Sandhya
Ms. Sandhya grew up and completed her education in India, where she began her teaching career working with college students. Teaching has always been her passion, but after moving to the United States, she discovered her true calling was working with young children. Her time in a Kindergarten classroom showed her how much joy it brings her to be surrounded by young, developing minds.
She lives in beautiful San Ramon with her husband and two wonderful children—though her kids are doing their best to convince her they need one more addition to the family, a cat or dog! For Ms. Sandhya, teaching is not just a profession; it’s a way to nurture curiosity and kindness in the next generation.
Ms. Sandhya has over four years of experience teaching preschoolers, along with a background in college-level education. She holds a Master’s degree in Computer Applications and a Child Development Associate Teacher Certificate. Her favorite thing about working with children is seeing their energy, enthusiasm, innocence, and curiosity. She also loves their bursting joy during conversations with eachother. Her favorite children’s book authors are Eric Carle and Mo Willems, and she enjoys reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Grouchy Ladybug with her students.
She loves the holiday season around Christmas and New Year’s for all the lights and cheer, and she also deeply cherishes celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, which keeps her connected to her Indian heritage.
In her free time, Ms. Sandhya enjoys cooking and baking new recipes, volunteering by preparing food for the homeless, and teaching “Education in Human Values” classes for children each week.
