Early Preschool teachers provide a safe, nurturing environment where your child can explore and stretch their talents to the fullest all while building self-confidence. Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Sarah Hackworth
Hi! I’m Sarah. I’m originally from Kentucky. I graduated from the University of Pikeville in 2018 with a Bachelors in Communication and a minor in Theatre. I’ve worked in childcare for 6 years and I previously worked at a Primrose! I love to sing and write, and in my free time you can find me playing with my cat Simba or binging my favorite TV shows. I’m so excited to be a part of the Primrose family again!
Kenzie Elam
Hello all! My name is Kenzie!
I am so excited to work with you and your kids this year. This is my first full year at Primrose School! I can’t wait to watch our friends in our class grow and learn and reach new milestones. I’ve been working with children for about 7 years! I am a California native and moved to North Carolina in April of 2026 to be closer to family. Before teaching, I was a cosmetologist and worked at a mom and pop pet store. In my free time I enjoy baking, playing my bass guitar, going to the beach, watching movies and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants. I enjoy music and sunshine. I am so ready for this amazing school year!
Casey Allen
Hello Primrose Families! My name is Casey Allen. I am originally from Kentucky. My father was in the Army so I grew up living all across our beautiful country as well as overseas in Europe. I moved to Wilmington in 1997 to attend UNCW. After graduation I started teaching for New Hanover Schools. I taught at Williams Elementary for sixteen years. Thirteen of those years I taught in a kindergarten classroom. I am so excited to continue my teaching career here at Primrose School of North Wilmington. I love working in early childhood education because of the excitement young children have for learning. Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new and have fun! My goal is to provide a safe, loving, and nurturing educational environment for your children. I have been married for twelve years and have a three year old son. My family and I enjoy going to the beach, surfing, riding bikes, playing at the park, and exploring all the beautiful places Wilmington has to offer. I can’t wait to work with your amazing children!
Cassidy Taylor
My name is Cassidy Taylor and I’m honored and humbled to be here at Primrose as an Assistant Teacher. I started my journey when I joined the Teacher Cadet program at Topsail High school and got my first preschool job when I moved to Okinawa, Japan. I currently have an Associate of Arts degree and am working towards a BA in History. Thank you for allowing me to get to know you and your child here at Primrose!
Averie Montgomery
I’m Averie! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to work with your children and be a part of watching them learn and grow. I was born and raised in a small town in Pennsylvania and since then I’ve moved around a bit between Maryland and North Carolina. I have a degree in business, but I’ve found that my true passion is working with children and being a part of Early Childhood Education. I look forward to getting to know each child, building meaningful relationships with them, and making their time in the classroom a positive experience. I am so happy to be here and can’t wait to see you all around!
