Mrs. Amanda Kirk
Director of Operations

Mrs. Kirk is the Director of Operations for all six of our schools. She graduated in 2000 with a bachelors degree from Texas Lutheran University and moved to Austin, where she began her early childhood education journey teaching 3- and 4-year-olds, before eventually working her way up to the manager level. In 2009, Ms. Kirk decided to move back to Houston, joining Primrose School of Pearland Parkway as the Private Pre-Kindergarten 1 teacher. Since then, she has held such positions as Administrative Assistant and, later, Area Curriculum Coordinator.

During her time as Area Curriculum Coordinator, she helped train teachers on how to implement the Primrose curriculum. Now the Director of Operations, she travels between the schools to assist school directors in all aspects of management. Mrs. Kirk loves where her journey through early childhood education has taken her and hopes to be with Primrose for many more years to come.

Mrs. Afton has joined the team as our new Director and, although she is new to Primrose, we are confident that she will be a great asset to our mission and vision! Mrs. Afton grew up here in the Houston area, Kingwood specifically, before moving to Indiana as a teenager. In Indiana she earned her degree in psychology before moving back to Houston with her family. She is a proud mother to one amazing little boy and has two dogs. She has 15 years of experience in early childhood education, with 10 of those years spent as a school director.
