Our Infant Classroom

We know the first year of life can have a big influence on a child’s success in the years that follow. That’s why teachers in your child’s Infant classroom provide a loving and nurturing environment as they lay the foundation for learning. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being.

  • Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
  • Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
  • Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
  • Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
  • Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
  • Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Samantha Kirk
Samantha Kirk
Younger Infant Teacher

Hi, my name is Samantha Kirk and I wanted to share a little about myself. I grew up in a small town near Elysburg, PA just a few miles away from Knoebles Amusement Park. I have lived in Delaware County for over 13 years and have worked in Child Care for 3 years.

I have six children total, four children of my own and two step children. I graduated high school in 2007 and acquired an associates degree in the Arts.

My favorite food is authentic Mexican and on the weekends, you can find me spending time with my children.

One of my favorite children’s book is Dear Zoo. I would say the Primrose character I relate to most is OG because I love to read.

I am super excited to watch the children learn new and exciting things. I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family.

Jennifer Hanners
Jennifer Hanners
Older Infant Teacher

Hello ! I’m Jenn. A little about me ….. well I’m deeply fascinated by early childhood development, especially the transformative ideas of Piaget and Vygotsky. Their theories about how children construct knowledge and learn through social interaction continue to shape the way I understand growth, learning, and human potential. I love exploring how these insights apply to real-world environments and inspire more meaningful ways to support young learners.

I have 26 years of experience in Early Childhood Education , and an Associates in Applied Science. I’m planning to finish my Bachelor’s in Educational Studies — took a detour to have my second little human and I’ve been busy with her for the last 9 years! I’m no stranger to Primrose, this is my 5th school year! In that time, I have mastered both the Wonder and Venture curriculums. Through my experience teaching across multiple age groups, from Preschool Pathways to Preschool and Pre-K, and now working with Infants, I’ve gained a deep understanding of how each curriculum supports children’s development at every stage.

I really do love my job! At the end of the day, nothing makes me happier than being part of those small-but-mighty moments when a child learns something new—and knowing I helped them get there.
