Our Preschool Pathways Classroom
Our Preschool Pathways program provides a “bridge” between our Early Preschool and Preschool classrooms for children whose birthdays will ultimately miss the cutoff date for kindergarten entrance. By identifying those children early, we can help them stay with a consistent group of peers through preschool, pre-K and kindergarten.
Nurturing Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®

- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
Our Preschool Pathways Classroom Teachers & Staff

Ms. Pleasure Gates
With over 20 years of experience in childcare and a certification in the field, I am passionate about helping children grow and develop while fostering positive relationships with them and their families. My love for children’s literature is evident in my fondness for “Pete the Cat,” a book that never fails to bring joy and excitement to young readers.
Outside of the classroom, she enjoys expressing her creativity through baking, cooking, and catering. These hobbies not only allow her to relax but also provide opportunities to share delicious treats with others.
Ms. Gates is excited about the opportunity to grow with the school and build strong bonds with the children and families in my care. She is eager to bring her creativity to the classroom by implementing innovative techniques and engaging activities that will enhance the learning experience for all. She is committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

Ms. Jacquelyn Komas
Ms. Komas brings valuable experience working with both children and adults in various caretaking roles. Her background includes supporting individuals in a variety of nurturing settings. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, which has provided her with diverse knowledge and skills to support growth and learning.
In her personal time, Ms. Komas enjoys reading, playing games, and painting. These hobbies offer her creativity and relaxation outside of work.
What she loves most about working with children is their excitement about learning new things. Their enthusiasm inspires her every day. This school year, Ms. Komas is most excited about meeting the children and their families. She truly looks forward to building these new relationships. Her favorite children’s book is Frog and Toad by Arnold Lobel. The stories of friendship and kindness in this book have always been close to her heart.
