Julie and Bryan Bowman
Hi, I am Julie Bowman. I am the proud owner and operator of the Primrose School at West Clay, the Primrose School at Bridgewater, the Primrose School at West Carmel, and the Primrose School at Grand Park. My husband Bryan and I have three beautiful children named Adelyn, Gavin, and Alaina. My love for my family and my passion for education are what drove me to open my Primrose School.
My lifelong dream has been to open a school of my own. After researching schools and the requirements to start my own, I stumbled upon Primrose Schools. I continue to be amazed by Primrose’s outstanding approach to education, their accredited curriculum and their character development programs.
My professional career has been in education for the past 11 years with Hamilton Southeastern Schools. While with HSES, I worked as a special education teacher at the elementary and high school levels for 5 years, as an assistant principal for 3 years, and spent 3 years as the Principal at Sand Creek Intermediate School. I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, a Director of Special Education degree, a Masters in School Administration and have finished all coursework to receive my doctorate in education administration.
Carmel is an amazing community and I am pleased that I have had the opportunity to open the Primrose School at West Carmel. Our preschool is an outstanding school with NCA accredited curriculum. Our Primrose School is like no other private preschool in the state of Indiana. Please give us the opportunity to show you how much of a difference we can make in your children’s lives. I promise you will not be disappointed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?
Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?
Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.
How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?
All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*
What are your hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am-6:00 pm.
How do you keep parents informed about their child's day?
Connecting school to home is one of the ways we help children thrive. We use the Procare app to share daily updates and photos so you stay connected to your child’s joy, learning and special moments
Do you offer a summer program?
Yes! In addition to our year-round classrooms for children ages 0–5, we offer Summer Adventure Club for elementary school students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our summer program uses hands-on activities and rotating weekly themes to keep children engaged while continuing to support their development.
How do you accommodate children with allergies or special medical needs?
Health and safety is our top priority, and we work closely with families to accommodate allergies and medical needs. We ask that parents provide detailed information during enrollment so we can create a safe plan for their child. All Primrose schools are nut-free facilities.
What is your policy for school closures?
We follow a structured calendar with planned days off communicated in advance for the year. For any unexpected closures — including weather-related closures — we will communicate them as early as possible.
