Primrose School would love to meet your family.
Contact UsHi, I am Julie Bowman. I am the proud owner and operator of the Primrose School at West Clay, the Primrose School at Bridgewater, the Primrose School at West Carmel, and the Primrose School at Grand Park. My husband Bryan and I have three beautiful children named Adelyn, Gavin, and Alaina. My love for my family and my passion for education are what drove me to open my Primrose School.
My lifelong dream has been to open a school of my own. After researching schools and the requirements to start my own, I stumbled upon Primrose Schools. I continue to be amazed by Primrose's outstanding approach to education, their accredited curriculum and their character development programs.
My professional career has been in education for the past 11 years with Hamilton Southeastern Schools. While with HSES, I worked as a special education teacher at the elementary and high school levels for 5 years, as an assistant principal for 3 years, and spent 3 years as the Principal at Sand Creek Intermediate School. I have a Bachelors Degree in Special Education, a Director of Special Education degree, a Masters in School Administration and have finished all coursework to receive my doctorate in education administration.
Carmel is an amazing community and I am pleased that I have had the opportunity to open the Primrose School at West Carmel. Our preschool is an outstanding school with NCA accredited curriculum. Our Primrose School is like no other private preschool in the state of Indiana. Please give us the opportunity to show you how much of a difference we can make in your children's lives. I promise you will not be disappointed.
We aren’t just a daycare in Carmel – we are a premier early education and child care experience for children and families. We are conveniently located just minutes down the road from Target on West 98th Street.

🍎 The Apple of Our Eye for the month of November is, Ms. Rachel! She is one of our Pre-Kindergarten teachers. Rachel has been with us for a year, but has really shown drive and determination over the last 6+ months to not only lead her classroom to success, but also step in when needed. Rachel has a bubbly personality, and shows kindness and is welcoming to everyone. She focuses on building relationships with all her kiddos, being mindful of spending one-on-one time. She is one of the most flexible teacher we have, who would go into any room needed. She has transitioned wonderfully from being days off to being a full time teacher in Pre-K! Thank you Ms. Rachel for all that you do for our Pre-K classroom and school!🍎
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
💜The Family of the Month for November is The Maxey Family! We want to take this time to thank you for being a part of our growing Primrose family. Maddie is in preschool, and it has been so fun watching her learn and grow with us. She is so sweet and hilarious, and everyone loves her. Anyone who enters her preschool room gets a warm welcome from her. We appreciate all that this family does to communicate with teachers and leadership, and their on-going support for our school! If you came to Trunk or Treat you saw this family's amazing Elsa car decorated for the event. Thank you so much to Rachel and the whole family for being a part of that. This family has been so kind and supportive to all the teachers Maddie has had, and we appreciate that so much. Thank you again to the Maxey Family for being such a big part of our Primrose family, and all they do to take part in our community events. Never stop being amazing!💜
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
"“Back to School” may look different this year, but millions of children are still struggling to get the most important school supply: food. That’s why the Primrose Schools Children’s Foundation is proud to partner with No Kid Hungry to help provide an estimated 2.5 million meals to children in need to ensure they have the opportunity to focus, learn and thrive. #NoKidHungry #DineShopShare this fall and learn how you can get involved here: https://bit.ly/354gArU"
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.

It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.

It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
Og® the Bookworm represents caring and literacy, and is the perfect Primrose Friend to bring your child's school experience to your home. Over the next few weeks, we will provide specially designed interactive activities for children and parents as we navigate at-home learning together.
Students, families, teachers and staff at our school donated 480 food items through our Caring and Giving Food Drive!
For Veterans Day, we honored our veterans and active-duty service members by creating a “Wall of Heroes”!
Our students are learning about fire safety with a little help from the Carmel Fire Department! Firefighters paid a visit to our school to talk about emergency preparedness as part of Fire Prevention Week. Our community heroes showed off their impressive gear and then explored a giant fire engine with the children. We enjoyed hosting these local heroes and are grateful for the work they do every day to keep us safe!
Our Primrose parents are doing a great job! To celebrate Working Parents Day on September 16, we wanted to show our parents just how much we (and their children) appreciate them with a special grab-and-go dinner and a heartfelt video of their children explaining why they love their parents. Primrose schools around the country are doing similar acts of appreciation for parents as part of a national effort by Primrose to take on parent guilt. Parent guilt is real — moms and dads, despite doing their best, often feel like they’re not doing enough for their children. Primrose wants parents to feel supported and celebrated as they focus on raising caring, compassionate children, and has released videos and resources to encourage parents everywhere to #LetGuiltGo. We’re honored to be a partner to our wonderful Primrose parents and are so proud of the kindness and generosity we see and nurture in their children every day.
Our Summer Adventure Club students are giving back to community helpers! As part of our Get Ready. Get Safe. Summer Adventure Club weekly theme, we hosted an appreciation luncheon for some of our local first responders. The students loved serving lunch to these heroes in uniform, and we are all grateful for the work they do every day to keep us safe!
We are pleased and excited to announce that the Primrose School at West Carmel has achieved Level 4 in Paths to QUALITY™, Indiana’s voluntary quality rating and improvement system.
