What is one thing you’re doing this Valentine’s Day to spread the love? We’d love to hear how you’re celebrating!
Wonder Time 2
Our little learners had an absolute blast today exploring the magical world of butterflies! We started by discovering the different colors and shapes butterflies can have, and then we dove into a fun storybook all about insects!
After learning about these beautiful creatures, our toddlers got creative and colored their very own butterflies! It was such a joy to see their imaginations take flight!
Infant Curriculum
At Primrose, we believe in keeping our infants active, engaged, and excited to learn. From the moment they arrive, we provide a nurturing environment where curiosity thrives. Our littlest learners absolutely love flipping through their colorful books filled with animals, shapes, and vibrant images. These books help them explore the world around them and begin to understand the fascinating sights and sounds they encounter every day.

Teacher Appreciation Day
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our incredible teachers. Your patience, love, and dedication to our children make such a difference in their lives every single day. We see the hard work and care you pour into everything you do, and we are so thankful for each and every one of you.
Pajama Day
Our Christmas-themed Pajama Day is always a highlight, and it's so much fun to see the kids (and staff!) dressed in cozy holiday pjs. It's one of our favorite "Special Days of the Week" where we come together as a community to share in the joy and festivities of the season.
Primrose Tree
Our students had an absolute blast decorating our Primrose tree! Each classroom worked together to create beautiful, unique ornaments, making our tree a true reflection of their creativity and holiday spirit. It's wonderful to see our school community come together in such a festive way.
Libby
At Primrose, we're celebrating this month with our puppet Libby. Libby teaches children that being fair leads to positive relationships and more fun for everyone.
To demonstrate the importance of sharing, Libby encouraged each of the kids to donate gloves and practice the true spirit of giving.
This is just one of the many ways we teach our students the value of sharing and fairness. We're grateful to have such compassionate role models like Libby leading by example!
At Primrose, we are so excited for the Holidays. Feel free to post some ways you are celebrating the Holidays with your loved ones and tag us!

The holiday season is the perfect time for our students to give without expectation! Our Primrose students gave back to their community by donating to Bethesda Care. Our classrooms talked about how grateful we are for our food, family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our wonderful families! We are so grateful for each of you and your support. A special thank you to everyone who participated in our food drive – your generosity is truly appreciated. All of the donations will be delivered to Bethesda Care, and your contributions will make a real difference to those in need.
We hope you all enjoy a holiday filled with love, laughter, and delicious food!

Thumbs Up
Our toddlers had a blast practicing their fine motor skills during today’s Thumbs Up activity! They rolled their balls down a ramp while learning all about motion and cause and effect. Each child had a turn to participate and explore how the balls moved, fostering both their physical development and understanding of movement.
Happy World Kindness Day! 🌟
Happy World Kindness Day! 🌟
Today at Primrose, we celebrated by showing appreciation to our amazing staff with some delicious baked goods as a thank-you for all the kindness they show our little ones every day. They are such incredible role models, demonstrating kindness in everything they do.
In the classrooms, we talked about the importance of kindness and shared examples of small acts that can make a big difference, helping others feel good and spreading positivity.
At Primrose, our Pre-Kindergartners are having a blast practicing their letters and tracing! This early learning is crucial as we prepare for the next big step: Kindergarten!
When children recognize letters and sounds, they build critical skills that help with reading fluency, spelling, and comprehension.
We’re so proud of our little learners and the progress they’re making.

Apple of Our Eye: Jeanibe Basilian
Apple of Our Eye: Jeanibe Basilian. Jeanibe brings so much more than just knowledge into the Primrose School of DC; she brings warmth, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to the success and well-being of her students.
Her ability to go above and beyond, day in and day out, is truly inspiring. Jeanibe embodies the very best qualities of an educator: kindness, patience, passion, and dedication. Jeanibe's creativity knows no bounds, and her innovative approaches to education have inspired us to think critically, express ourselves confidently, and embrace our unique talents and strengths.
At Primrose, our students had a wonderful time learning about food today! They rolled play-dough to create their own dishes, discovering shapes and sizes along the way. It was a great opportunity to develop their fine motor skills as they used their hands to craft various types of food.

At Primrose, our toddler program provides a curriculum to help set a foundation to ensure that our infants reach their milestones and achieve the support they need to reach their full potential. Toddlers draw on social-emotional, language, motor, and perceptual experiences and abilities for cognitive development. They are attuned to relationships between features of objects, actions, and the physical environment. Our classrooms use objects such as books and learning blocks to learn about different kind of animals and make real world connections. Our children love to read and learn about new information.

The Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum supports children’s innate desire to learn through investigation and experimentation. In the classroom, intentional experiences introduce little ones to new concepts and ideas in engaging ways. And the exploration doesn’t stop there. Primrose teachers are trained to observe each child’s interests and learning style, which they then use to extend learning. For example, if a child expresses curiosity about plants during a lesson, the teacher will pose questions to encourage him to explore the subject further and reach his own conclusions, while sharing facts and information to enrich his understanding.

Encouraging healthy habits in children at Primrose early on is essential to their future health and success. That’s why we developed our Balanced Menus program, which exposes our students to a variety of healthy foods and ensures they get the proper balance of fruit, vegetables and whole grains while in school. We encourage children try new foods on the menu on a regular basis, as research shows children are more likely to accept a new food if it’s offered 10-15 times, though we always respect a child’s preferences and will never make him eat anything he doesn’t want to. We’ve also built several lessons and experiences into our curriculum to help children learn about nutrition and to encourage a healthy relationship with food – starting in our infant classrooms through Pre-kindergarten.

Primrose Schools' Harmony & Heart program is a proprietary approach to music and literacy that helps children develop into better listeners, more dynamic thinkers, and kinder people. The program combines music and children's books to help children learn about rhythm, melody, and other concepts. It also helps children develop confidence, independence, and strong character.

Our infant classrooms foster Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® through a nurturing environment with plenty of reading. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being. Today our infants loved learning about different animals through our learning blocks and infant books.

At Primrose, we incorporate STEM-based learning into children’s everyday experiences through our Balanced Learning® approach. For infants to pre-kindergartners, STEM subjects are intentionally integrated in many ways, including through group activities, learning centers, books, discussions, experiments, art projects and educational games. Today we learned about living things and experimented with water to explore its properties. We love experimenting at Primrose.

As part of our commitment to providing a well-rounded early childhood education with our Balanced Learning® approach, Primrose School of Downtown Bethesda includes Spanish-language learning with daily lessons in our classrooms. Our program introduces vocabulary related to weekly themes, music and simple conversation.

At Primrose, we love experimenting with colors. Today, we learned that we can create new colors by mixing other colors! Our teachers encourage curiosity at Primrose and encourage our children to explore with fun experiments. Primrose will give your children the confidence to ask questions about the world, find out how things work, and give them an understanding of their environment.

Election Day
At Primrose, Election Day is our opportunity to show our students the value of democracy and citizenship while educating them on the importance of voting. Our students will get to see first-hand how voicing their opinions at the ballot box translates into real-life results by choosing a presidential Primrose Friend mascot.
