Director

Mrs. Yang is our amazing Director! Originally from Banning, California, she has worked in childcare since 2002. In 2005, she started at Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway as a Preschool teacher and has served in many different capacities, including Toddler teacher, Early Preschool teacher, and Curriculum Coordinator, before being promoted to Director.

Mrs. Yang is known for being punctual, professional, and dependable. As a teacher, she was exceptional, preparing busy groups of students every day and taking them far beyond our expectations. Laughter and music were commonplace in her classroom, which is reflected in her favorite quote: “Live, laugh, learn: live to the fullest, laugh even when you don’t want to, and learn all that there is to know!” As Director, she leads with integrity, passion, and a commitment to excellence every single day.

Ms. Smith

Director of Curriculum

Ms. Smith is originally from Decatur, GA, and has been in childcare since 2012. Her favorite food is jerk chicken pasta. On the weekends, she enjoys painting and taking dance classes, indulging in her artistic pursuits. Her favorite children’s books are “Corduroy” and “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom.” She relates most to Billy the Duck because she believes that promises are sacred and should be upheld. She is super excited about joining the Primrose Team and serving a diverse group of students. A quote that resonates with her is, “Have courage and be kind,” from Cinderella 2018. She likes this quote because she respects those who dare to stand up for their beliefs and lead with kindness.

Mrs. Saunder’s hometown is in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and her favorite food is curried shrimp. On weekends you’ll often find her enjoying shopping trips! She holds a special love for the “Milton the Early Riser” by Robert Kraus. Among the Primrose characters, she resonates most with Ally the Bunny, appreciating the values of responsibility. Mrs. Saunders relishes the opportunity to build lasting relationships with each and every family, ensuring that every child feel seen and heard by delivering that Primrose Promise each and everyday.

Education Coach

Originally from Goldsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Jemes brings over ten years of experience in early childhood education. Her passion for helping young children learn and grow shines through everything she does in the classroom.

Mrs. Jemes enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, and she has a special love for sushi and Caribbean cuisine. Her favorite children’s book, Amazing Grace, reflects her belief in inspiring confidence and imagination in every child.

The Primrose Friend she most relates to is Katie the Cat, who represents cooperation and values helping others work together. Mrs. Jemes believes that learning is best achieved in a nurturing, engaging, and cooperative environment where children feel supported and valued.

This year, Mrs. Jemes is most excited about building strong relationships with the Primrose Sugarloaf community—children, families, and staff alike. Her favorite quote, “She was unstoppable, not because she did not have failures or doubts, but because she continued on despite them,” captures her spirit of resilience and dedication to her students.

Young Infants Teacher

Originally from Buford, Georgia, Ms. Hardy has been an educator since 1986. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Clark Atlanta University, where she pledged the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

Ms. Hardy enjoys attending Falcon and Hawks games, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. She is not only a loving mother but also a dedicated educator, believing that children learn best in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment. The Primrose friend she most relates to is Og because she loves to read and teach her Primrose children new words. Ms. Hardy is eagerly looking forward to having a wonderful, fun-filled, and educational year with all of her Primrose children.

Older Infants Teacher

Mrs. Martinez is originally from Columbia. She has been immersed in the early childhood field since 2002 and has been a part of Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway since 2007. Mrs. Martinez most relates with the Primrose friend, “Mia the Mouse,” as she shares a love for the outdoors and staying active. On weekends, she enjoys visiting the park. Her favorite dish is lasagna, and her favorite quote is, “No one knows what they have until they have lost it!”

Ms. Martinez was born in Ecuador. Her favorite food is seafood, and on weekends, she loves going to the movies and spending time with her family. Her favorite children’s book is “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See?” With sixteen years of childcare experience, Ms. Martinez relates most to the Primrose character Katie the Cat, who embodies cooperation and shows a keen interest in people’s lives and social skills. She is excited about getting to know and teach her new friends.

Pre-School Pathways Teacher

Ms. Maduro was born in Atlanta, GA. Her favorite food is pizza, and she enjoys painting on weekends. Her favorite children’s book is “Where is the Green Sheep?” With eight months of childcare experience, Ms. Maduro relates most to the Primrose character Og the Primrose Bookworm, who represents caring and a love for reading. She is excited to introduce the children to new ideas and activities. Her favorite quote is, “Be the of your dreams.”

Ms. Davalos

Pre-School 1 Teacher

Ms. Davalos is originally from Mexico. Her favorite food is sushi. Her favorite weekend activities are family walks and going to the gym. She has three years of Childcare experience. Her favorite children’s book is Is Your Mama a Llamas.” The Primrose Character she most relates to is Molly the cow (Respect for others). She is most excited about working with her Primrose children, hoping they can learn from each other.

Private Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Mrs. Diaz is originally from the Dominican Republic. Since beginning her career in early childhood education in 2007, she has gained experience working with all age groups. When asked which Primrose Friend she most relates to, she responded with “Og the Bookworm” because she LOVES to read! She enjoys watching sports over the weekend.

Ms. Cromartie is from West Palm Beach, Florida. Her favorite food is macaroni & cheese.  Her favorite weekend activities are reading, drawing, and singing with her family.  Her favorite children’s books are “Amelia Bedelia & Percy Jackson Series.” She has eight years of Childcare experience. The Primrose character she most relates to is Og, the Primrose bookworm (Caring), who loves to read.  What she is most excited about this school year is to build a positive and safe learning environment for her students and to see her kids continue to grow. Her favorite quote is, “It’s legendary to be afraid and do it anyway. There’s no such thing as failure if you try.”

Mrs. Harvey’s hometown is in New Jersey, and her favorite food is chicken. Weekends often find her enjoying shopping trips! She holds a special love for the “Curious George” series by Margret Rey and H. A. Rey. Among the Primrose characters, she resonates most with Peanut the Pony, appreciating the values of honesty and storytelling that Peanut embodies. Mrs. Harvey eagerly anticipates the learning journey of the upcoming school year, eager to witness the growth and progress of her students. Her guiding mantra is, “A good attitude will take you far.”

Ms. Medrano hometown is in La Ceiba, Honduras and her favorite food is sopa de frijoles. Weekends often find her dinner with her family and friends! She holds a special love for the “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish” series by Dr. Suess.  Among the Primrose characters, she resonates most with Og the Bookworm, appreciating the values of caring and promoting early literacy skills. Ms. Medrano eagerly waits for the holiday season, excited to spend time with her students celebrating different traditions and making everyone fell welcome. Her guiding mantra is, “Las palabras se las llevas el vierno.”

Tanisha Turner

Ms. Turner has owned and operated Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway since they first opened their doors in 2003. She has been in education since 1986 and continues to love what she does! She can be “caught” loving on and playing with children (or teachers and parents) in classrooms at any given moment. She has taught all areas and age levels, but has a special place in her teaching heart for math and science. She has Bachelor’s Degrees in Education and Sociology and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. Ms. Turner is very active in her church and she and her husband lead the church’s marriage ministry called Married.4.Life. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor. Ms. Turner is also a former Primrose Parent and proud Mom to three awesome young men who were all Primrose students. Ms. Turner considers herself to be a lifetime learner and encourages everyone to do the same. She loves giving “homework” to parents and teachers of our school, so beware! She likes everyone to be in “think and create mode”. She loves to listen to all types of music, visit museums and practice yoga. She is an avid reader and loves a great “book talk”. She loves to travel, try new foods, experience different cultures and has been all over the world enjoying meeting people from different walks of life. She is a proud graduate of the class of 2007 and active alumni of Leadership Gwinnett, through the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and loves to talk “Delta” with the Sisters who have their children in our school. One of the many favorite quotes she has (and she has many) is “It’s not the duration of your life, but the donation of it. Not how long you lived, but how you lived.”(From the Purpose Driven Life). Another favorite quote is “When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and I could say “I have used everything You gave me”.
