Teachers & Staff

Mrs. Emily Jones
Hi! I’m Mrs. Emily and I am the School Director here at Primrose South Gilbert. I have been laughing, learning, teaching, and coaching here since 2016. My husband and I share 2 daughters, Leighton & Imani who also love Primrose South Gilbert! Leighton began attending school here in the Infant program and graduated from our Pre-K program in 2024. Imani also attends school here and loves it! I have lived in Arizona since 2010, but grew up in Huntington Beach, California. I have been so lucky to wear many hats over my time here, from Support Teacher to Lead Teacher, followed by Education Coach to Director! I have learned so much and I wouldn’t change a thing. I love my team and am so grateful that my daughters get to experience all that a Primrose Education has to offer. I can’t wait to meet your family, too!

Mrs. Sheena Elkin
Sheena was born and raised in Aluquerque New Mexico and moved to Arizona in 2002 when working for P.F. Chang’s as a corporate trainier. She graduated from UNM in Albuquerque with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. She has 3 boys and her youngest is currently enrolled our our Primrose Venture program. She has a passion for Early Childhood Education and loves to watch each child have their own lightbulb moments as they explore and create new things every day. Sheena loves developing a personal bond with each child and works hard to make every child feel like they are the most important student at the school. We are so lucky to have her!

Mrs. Kate LaMora
Kate, originally from Port Huron, Michigan, relocated to Arizona in 2019 with her husband Nathan. Her and her family first joined us as a Primrose family in our Venture program. After adding their 2nd child to their family, Kate made us an incredible offer to join our team in September of 2022. We quickly recognized her valuable skils and added her to our Leadership team as our Director of Operations. During high school and college Kate discovered her love for working with children while doing missionary work abroad specifically in orphanages in Mexicali, Mexico. She then went on to graduate from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and worked in the finance industry for six years before coming back into Early Childhood Education. In her free time, you can find Kate hiking, camping and long-boarding with her family. When she can find the time, her favorite hobbies include photography and reading. Kate has three boys who are all Primrose students. Kate has made such a positive impact in creating personal relationships with each and every student at Primrose School of West Gilbert and is committed to making a lasting impression long past their time here at Primrose.

Ms. Sheldean Wollam
Ms. Sheldean has been a part of the Primrose School of South Gilbert family for 2 years and brings a passion for early childhood education to the classroom every day. One of her favorite parts of our curriculum is our Balanced Learning Approach, which allows balances nurturing guidance with purposeful play; “learning feels natural and fun at our school”. Ms. Sheldean especially loves seeing her students’ growth and development, and she cherishes her strong bonds with each individual student.
Outside the classroom, Ms. Sheldean enjoys reading, concert going, and playing puzzles. A beloved family tradition she looks forward to each year is Posadas, Christmas and Dia de Muertos.
Her favorite children’s book is Green Eggs and Ham because of its deeper meanings and silly nature. Ms. Sheldean is excited to continue creating a joyful, safe, and enriching environment where every child can thrive.

Kate and Kyle McEuen
Welcome to the Primrose Schools!
We are Kate and Kyle McEuen, the proud owners of Primrose School of South Gilbert!
As the parents of five beautiful children, family means everything to us and we strive to teach our children the value of education, the importance of being kind to everyone, and the value of giving back to your community. When hearing about Primrose Schools, we were so excited to learn how closely their values aligned with our own! With Primrose Schools outstanding approach to education balanced with character development programs, we knew this was a brand that we wanted to bring to our community!
With a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of Arizona, Kyle has spent the last 15 years in the franchise industries helping organizations recognize opportunities for growth and improvement. And, with a love for learning, particularly around children and early education, Kate has dedicated the last two decades to raising their family, including running an in-home preschool. Most recently Kate has been a realtor working primarily with families in the Gilbert area. Outside of work, Kate and Kyle are deeply dedicated to their community, volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, managing local sports teams and giving back to their local church. As a family, the McEuen’s enjoy staying active, hiking across the beautiful Southwest any opportunity they get.
Who children become is as important as what they know is a belief that is at the core of our Balanced Learning® approach. Our exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families.
We are excited to meet you and your family!
