My name is Seema Naik, and it is a privilege for my husband, Manoj, and me to serve the children and families of Winter Garden and the surrounding communities.
As parents of two children, our Primrose journey began when we personally experienced the challenges of finding high-quality childcare. That experience inspired me to seek out a program that offers a balanced and comprehensive approach to early childhood education. Today, we’re proud to bring the Primrose Balanced Learning® Approach to your family as the owners of Primrose School of Horizon West, along with Primrose School of Avalon Park and Primrose School of Lake Nona, both of which we opened several years ago.
Before joining Primrose, I built a career in the financial sector, holding various roles including Auditor and Regional Customer Service Manager. Throughout my life, I’ve always been passionate about giving back to the community, and that commitment continues to be a core part of who we are as a family and as school owners. We regularly support local organizations like Habitat for Humanity, Second Harvest Food Bank, and senior assisted living homes.
One of my greatest passions is teaching cultural dance to children. Over the years, I’ve helped many young dancers compete successfully while also building their self-confidence, social skills, and love for staying active.
We are committed to providing an exceptional early learning experience where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to grow. Our team of caring, dedicated teachers is making a real difference in the lives of children and families every day.

This month the West Lakes Early Learning Center Celebrates 5 Years of Serving Children!
Primrose Support Team members, Franchise Owners and Primrose Schools Children's Foundation® Board Members had the honor of celebrating the transformational pilot center's success and 5th anniversary milestone of the ELC with our partners AdventHealth, Lift Orlando, Purpose Built Communities, West Lakes Partnership and the Bainum Family Foundation, in Orlando, FL.
Since its opening, Primrose Schools has provided pro bono its Balanced Learning® curriculum, strategic leadership, operating model and ongoing support, totaling approximately $750,000 in in-kind donations.
ELC 5th Anniversary Highlights:
- Served approximately 300 children, over 90 percent of whom would not be able to attend the center without tuition scholarships.
- Provided nearly 1,300 pediatric patient visits for ELC students and preschool children in the community.
- Facilitated 14,880 pediatric therapy visits for ELC students and preschool children in the community!

Balanced Meals at Primrose
At Primrose School of Horizon West, balanced meals are thoughtfully planned to nourish growing bodies and minds. Each meal includes a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. We believe that healthy eating habits start early and support lifelong wellness. First Day of School
The first day of school at Primrose School of Horizon West was filled with excitement, smiles, and new beginnings! Our students were welcomed into a nurturing, engaging environment designed to support early childhood education, social development, and a lifelong love of learning. At Primrose School of Horizon West, we focus on building confidence, fostering curiosity, and creating a strong foundation through our balanced learning curriculum. Discover how our preschool programs help children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally from day one.
Science Experiments!
Students in our Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten classrooms performed their first experiment! They got to be scientists as we learned about making observations, asking questions, and how to make a hypothesis! They recorded as a group what the knew about baking soda and vinegar as well as what questions they had about each item. Then they carefully mixed the two together and observed the reaction! They recorded what they saw, and were encouraged to tell their families their findings and have them make their own hypothesis! Our students are building a foundation of a lifelong love of learning and adaptability! This activity helped to strengthen their, curiosity, creativity, problem solving and critical thinking skills! 
Our Primrose Patch
Our Primrose Patch has officially opened! Today our children excitedly visited the Primrose Patch, bringing along seeds they can watch grow. They carefully planted each seed in the rich, warm soil, filled with anticipation for what may happen. Gardening helps preschoolers grow in more ways than one! Through hands-on experiences, children build early science skills, strengthen motor development, and learn responsibility and patience. It also encourages teamwork, healthy habits, and a love of learning helping students blossom with confidence
Happy Grandparents Day!
Throughout the week we celebrated the love, laughter, and wisdom that grandparents bring into our lives.
We were so lucky to welcome many grandparents into our classrooms to read stories and share special time with their grandchildren and classmates. Our students also made thoughtful crafts to show just how much they love and appreciate their grandparents! 
Caring For Others
This week our toddlers explored the world of love, care, and connection through a sweet and meaningful activity about taking care of babies. Using baby dolls, we looked closely at their eyes, nose, hair, and talked about the gentle ways we care for babies, giving hugs, showing love, and being kind. These simple, nurturing actions are more than just play they’re helping our students begin to understand empathy, family relationships, and the importance of belonging. After our baby care time, we gathered to sing a song about families, how they can look different, do different things, and still, all be full of love. As we talk about belongingness this month, we’re helping our toddlers feel seen, safe, and connected. Not just to their families, but to one another.
Celebrating Belongingness

We’ve included every child’s artwork through our halls and up front alongside our beloved Primrose Friends characters.
This project is about celebrating each and every child, their unique voice, and the joy of being part of a caring, connected school community. Together, we’re building a place where every child feels like they belong! 
A Sip & Stroll Through Our Art Gallery!
We were thrilled to welcome parents to our special Sip & Stroll event, featuring a beautiful showcase of our Belongingness Project. Throughout the month of September, our students poured their hearts into creating artwork that reflects their individuality, voices, and sense of belonging. With soft ambient music playing and sparkling water in hand, families strolled through the halls, taking in the powerful and personal expressions displayed in each piece. This event was more than just decorating the walls, it was a celebration of every child. We honored their uniqueness, made sure they felt seen, heard, and valued, and strengthened the sense of community at Primrose School of Horizon West.
International Dwarfism Awareness Day
Our Primrose School of Horizon West students proudly wore green in honor of Dwarfism Awareness Day, celebrating inclusion, belonging, and respect for all values that are deeply rooted in our early childhood education curriculum. Through meaningful activities and community engagement, we foster empathy, diversity awareness, and a strong sense of belonging for every child. Global Handwashing Day
It’s Global Handwashing Day! At Primrose School of Horizon West we make sure the children are creating the healthy habit of washing their hands throughout the day keeping germs away while protecting themselves and others!
Planting Seeds in our Magic Pumpkin Patch
Our children planted magical pumpkin seeds in our Primrose Patch. Throughout the night, the magic unfolded! The pumpkin fairy made its way here dusting and sprinkling pumpkin dust over the seeds! Children came in with anticipation and were excited to a full patch of pumpkins that sprouted overnight

Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Today our Primrose School of Horizon West family brought their pink out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month!
We turned our school pink to show support, give strength and courage to those who fought or are fighting breast cancer today! 
Parade of Costumes
We ended our day with our Parade of costumes followed by our first ever Trunk or Treat!! It was a pleasant afternoon filled with laughter and tons of spooky fun. Thank you to all families who participated, donated candy and came to support our event
Caring and Giving Food Drive
Teaching kindness starts early! Our Preschoolers are learning what it means to give without expecting anything in return as they lead this week’s Canned Food Drive. We are so proud of their big hearts in these little bodies. Thank you to our families for supporting our students as they learn the true value of generosity. Together, we’re making a meaningful difference! In keeping with the Primrose tradition of helping others, all donations will support Matthews Hope and the families they serve.

It's one of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions, and a small way to say thank you for the big love and support you give our school community. We are so grateful for our partnership and proud of the amazing team who makes it all possible. Happy Thanksgiving! 
Writing Practice
This week, the children in Preschool are learning about the letters W and X. They are practicing the letter sounds, exploring words that begin with W and X, and enjoying fun crafts. The children are also participating in rhyming activities and following along with print while it is read aloud to help them understand how spoken words connect to written words.
Holiday Block Party!
Primrose School of Horizon West, along side Horizon West Happenings participated in our community’s Holiday Block Party!
It was a festive and merry night with music, ornament making and lots of families stopping by to see us 🎄

Making a Difference, One Book at a Time!
Thanks to the generosity of our families, Primrose School of Horizon West was proud to donate the books collected during our recent Book Drive to Westlakes Early Learning Center. These stories will help spark imagination, inspire a love of learning, and open doors for the incredible children they serve. At Primrose, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to explore the world through reading. Read Across America Day
Students got to step into stories that were made to come alive by our incredibly talented teachers as we celebrated Read Across America Day! 
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Today our students and staff celebrated by showing off their best green outfits! Leprechaun traps were set and the children had so much fun. This activity encouraged problem-solving and early engineering skills as children design and build their traps, while also strengthening fine motor skills through cutting, gluing, and assembling. This activity also helped spark imagination, promote teamwork, and build confidence as children shared ideas and tested their creations.

A Little Library With a Big Purpose
Primrose School of Horizon West is excited to launch our Little Library, open to all children in the Horizon West community ~ not just Primrose students. Our goal is to spark a lifelong love of reading and learning for every child and encourage families to explore the joy of books together. At Primrose School of Horizon West, literacy starts early and is at the heart of our VPK program, where we build strong foundations and develop critical reading and language skills that prepare children for kindergarten and beyond!

Painting Like Vincent van Gogh
Our Pre-K students explored creativity and self-expression by creating their own replicas of The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh. Through this hands-on activity, students strengthened fine motor skills, practiced following visual patterns, and learned about a renowned artist and his unique style. Experiences like these encourage creativity, build confidence, and help develop important early learning skills that support future academic success. We love watching our students bring their imagination to life while making meaningful connections to art and the world around them.

Spring Hat Parade
Spring is here and what a joyful celebration we had together today! Our Spring Hat Parade was filled with smiles as our students proudly showcased their hats made at home with their families. From flowers to bunnies, each hat was unique and bloomed creativity! School-to-home activities like this provide meaningful opportunities for families to engage in their child’s learning, strengthening the connection between home and school. As students and their loved ones worked together to design their spring hats, they built creativity, confidence, and a sense of pride in their work. These shared experiences help create a supportive learning community and make lasting memories along the way.

Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?
Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?
Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.
How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?
All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*
