Meet Laura and Paul Stechmesser — proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Druid Hills and now, Primrose School at Emory Healthcare – Northlake Campus. As with everyone in the Primrose Schools family, the Stechmessers believe that who children become is as important as what they know. They are excited to continue to bring exceptional early learning experiences to children in the Northlake community. With three young children of their own, the Stechmessers know first-hand the challenges of finding high-quality early education and care.

A Clemson graduate and a University of Tennessee alum, Laura and Paul met in Atlanta and have been married for more than 15 years. They are incredibly proud of their three children: Lilly, Luke and Mary Hazel.

At nearly 13,000 square feet, the school features 11 classrooms and secure, age-appropriate playgrounds and equipment. The school also features the Balanced Learning curriculum in infant through Pre-Kindergarten classrooms and the Primrose Explorers after-school program for students up to age 10. Developed and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools, the research-informed curriculum blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance to develop curious, compassionate and creative individuals.

Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?
Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?
Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.
How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?
All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm.
