See What Families Are Saying

Our son started at Primrose Eagan in Pre-K classroom. We transferred from a different childcare center and couldn’t be happier about our decision to change schools. We have seen him absolutely thrive at Primrose. His amazing teachers and other staff have sparked his interest in learning and the improvements he has made academically and socially have been amazing. We feel he is more than ready to take this next step in to Kindergarten and we have Primrose to thank for that.

Primrose School of Eagan

Our children have attended Primrose School of Eagan from the young infant room through the kindergarten program. The quality is well worth the price. The teachers are kind, knowledgeable, & trustworthy. The management is ethical, organized, & consistent. The educational programming is clearly communicated and has enhanced our children’s developmental growth, making them well prepared for elementary school. We are greeted by name whenever we arrive to the school and can see that the staff know our children as individuals, not as a number in a classroom. Most importantly our children enjoy going to school and we feel safe when they are there. We are incredibly pleased with our experience at the school and highly recommend to anyone.

Primrose School of Eagan

I recently returned to work full-time after being a stay-at-home to our three little girls for the past four years. It has been a difficult transition for everyone in our family, but Primrose School of Eagan has been there every step of the way helping to make things easier for all of us. We have been very impressed with the school and particularly the professionalism of the owner and management team since our first tour, and continue to be amazed by the unbelievably high and individualized level of service they deliver each and every day. Before the girls' first day the owner held a "parents' orientation" for us that lasted nearly two hours. We expected to receive lots of information specific to the school, and while she shared a lot of useful details with us the majority of the time was spent getting to know our girls as individuals: their likes, dislikes, comforts, fears, eating habits, napping habits, personalities, etc. All of this information was then relayed and subsequently used by the teachers as they worked to establish strong relationships with our girls. The management team and teachers continue to amaze us at how smoothly and seamlessly they handle everything we throw their direction. We couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll the girls at Primrose School of Eagan.

Primrose School of Eagan

Primrose School of Eagan has been a part of our family for the last 11 years. Our two kids both started as infants and stayed through kindergarten. Our family remains forever grateful for the outstanding care, education and friendships made at Primrose. During our time at Primrose, our kids received the best care and education. As both moved on to primary school, they were already a step ahead with the education they received at Primrose. Diane, Mandy, Annie and all the teachers like Ms. Simms and Ms. Miller made our experience exceptional. I can't thank them enough and we were sad to say goodbye! We love our Primrose family.

Primrose School of Eagan

Primrose School of Eagan has been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. We enrolled shortly after they opened, which was a few weeks before our daughter turned one. She started in the older infant room and then to the toddler room and now she is in early preschool. It's been fun watching her and her classmates grow. I also have peace-of-mind and don't have to choose between my daughters’ well-being and working. Primrose teaches her more than I ever could! She was singing the alphabet well before she was two-years old. She is happy and well-cared for and loves going to school. The owners, management, teaching staff and chef at Primrose are all second to none. I literally could not ask for better people to take care of my child. Her social, emotional, physical and nutritional needs are met everyday and we couldn't be happier about it. I am so thankful that we found Primrose.

Meet the Owners

Primrose School of Eagan is a family-owned preschool and childcare center led by Diane and Darren Storkamp since 2011. As Eagan parents ourselves since 2002, we know firsthand how much it matters to find a place where your child is genuinely known — not just by name, but by what makes them tick.

That conviction is why we brought the Cognia-accredited Balanced Learning® curriculum to Eagan, blending early academics, STEAM, social-emotional development, and character education under one roof. Families tell us their children arrive at kindergarten ahead of their peers. They also tell us their kids feel at home here — and that stability and consistency are things families notice when they find us.

Our school holds a Four-Star Parent Aware rating, a 95% parent recommendation rate, and over 160 verified five-star reviews from families across Eagan and Dakota County. Read what families are saying →

These recognitions mean our curriculum, teaching practices, health and safety procedures and family partnerships are regularly evaluated against outside standards, and re-evaluated on an ongoing basis to stay current.

Accreditation is not a one-time achievement. It is an ongoing process of continuous improvement that helps ensure we deliver a nurturing, engaging and high-quality learning environment where children can thrive.

Yes, our ownership team was named the 2024 Primrose Region D Franchise Owner of the Year, a recognition that reflects the same commitment to families that shapes daily life in our classrooms.

We follow the Balanced Learning® approach, exclusively developed by Primrose Schools®, to nurture the whole child intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.

Through Balanced Learning®, our dedicated teachers create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.

By thoughtfully blending purposeful play, guided discovery and nurturing support, we help your child build the skills to learn, grow and thrive, from our Infant classroom through Kindergarten.

Each day, our caring teachers combine structured learning, purposeful play and rest into a rhythm suited to every age group, integrated with circle time, small-group lessons, Children’s Choice Learning Centers, meals and rest, with plenty of variety built into every week.

Every part of the schedule is designed to keep children engaged without feeling rushed, so there’s always time for one more discovery.

School readiness starts in our Infant classroom and grows through every stage of our Balanced Learning® approach, with each year building the academic, social-emotional and life skills children need for future success.

Using balanced assessments and ongoing teacher observations, we monitor each child’s development, individualize learning experiences and stay in close contact with families to support a confident transition to kindergarten and beyond. The results speak for themselves: 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ) benchmarks for problem solving.

Yes! Primrose School of Eagan has premium artificial turf playground surfaces, whimsical tree house play structures and our own “Primrose Patch” raised garden beds, giving children daily outdoor play as part of their regular schedule.

Our playgrounds are carefully monitored to ensure children can explore, play and learn safely. Staff remain actively involved in children’s play experiences, perform daily safety checks and maintain constant supervision. With daily safety inspections, ongoing environmental monitoring and weather-related precautions, we help create a secure outdoor experience for every child.

Not at all. Our teachers partner one-on-one with each family to support potty training at whatever pace fits the child, keeping the approach consistent between school and home.

Yes, breakfast, lunch and snacks are included in tuition at Primrose School of Eagan. Our on-site chef prepares every meal fresh each day in our own culinary kitchen, all part of our Balanced Menus. Breakfast rotates through options like vanilla yogurt with diced mango and whole wheat English muffins with strawberry cream cheese.

Our lunch menus include favorites like beef tacos with seasoned mashed black beans and applesauce, baked turkey and cheese sliders with peas and pears, and meatloaf with mashed potatoes and mandarin oranges, with a vegetarian alternative built into the menu every day of the week.

All foods and meals are age-appropriate.

Primrose School of Eagan is a nut-free facility, and we work closely with each family to build an individualized plan so every child eats safely and confidently at school.

Our teachers and kitchen staff are trained to accommodate gluten, wheat and celiac needs, milk and dairy allergies, egg allergies, and vegetarian, vegan and other special dietary needs.

Our Balanced Learning® approach is designed to meet children where they are. Teachers adapt activities, instruction and support to match each child’s developmental stage and learning needs.

Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance, we help every child build confidence and grow at their own pace.

For families working with outside early intervention or special education providers, our teachers welcome ongoing communication to help support the child’s experience in the classroom.

Yes, every Primrose School team member passes a background check before joining a school and keeps CPR and first-aid certification current afterward. Families can expect that standard at any Primrose location.

Primrose School of Eagan maintains the teacher-to-child ratios set by the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families, among the most protective in the country, in every classroom at all times:

  • Infant: 1:4
  • Toddler: 1:7
  • Preschool: 1:10

Smaller ratios mean more one-on-one attention, so teachers have time to get to know your child individually.

Primrose School of Eagan is licensed and regulated by the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families, which sets requirements for staff qualifications, health and safety and classroom ratios.

We are also Cognia® accredited, and hold A Four-Star Parent Aware rating, additional layers of independent evaluation beyond state licensing.

Yes, school leadership at every Primrose school is trained to handle medication administration and to respond quickly and safely to a child’s needs. Primrose keeps an individualized plan on file for every child with medical needs, so staff have the exact guidance they need.

Primrose Schools require a Safe School Plan in every classroom, built to help teachers respond fast and stay composed whenever the need arises. Children and staff practice these drills monthly, and each school shares plan updates with families directly.

We use an app to keep families connected throughout the day, sharing photos, classroom activities, curriculum information, nap updates, and diaper change and bathroom visit notifications.

The app also supports two-way communication, so staying in touch with your child’s teachers is simple.

We value open, ongoing communication and connect with families in person during drop-off and pick-up to talk through your child’s day, answer questions and share observations from the classroom.

Primrose School of Eagan has earned 169 verified reviews through Listen360, an independent third-party platform, with a 95% recommendation rate. Here is what some of our families have shared:

“Our oldest was starting kindergarten at our local elementary school when we met a teacher who asked where he had gone to preschool. After we shared, she replied, ‘Oh! He’s a Primrose kid! He’s going to do great!’” — C.W.

“Both of my children have attended Primrose. We did take a short break and attempted to try another school, but it just doesn’t compare. Primrose isn’t just a schooling experience, it becomes part of your family.” — R.W.

“The staff stability is huge. I feel like in each conversation they truly know my child. The impact on his confidence in the last year has been incredible. I would never go anywhere else.” — J.P.

Primrose School of Eagan is locally owned by Diane and Darren Storkamp, who founded the school in 2011 and remain active in its daily operations. You will find them in the building regularly — not just behind the scenes. Day-to-day leadership is supported by an experienced onsite management team, including a director who has been with us since 2015. The teaching staff at the core of our school has built long careers here, and that continuity is something families notice quickly. In an industry where staff turnover is a genuine and common challenge, we have worked hard to build a school where experienced educators stay — and where that experience shows up in every classroom, every day.

Lead teachers at Primrose School of Eagan hold or are working toward a degree or credential in early childhood education or a related field, and every teacher takes part in ongoing professional development.

Experience is just as important here. Many of our teachers have been with us for years, some since the day we opened in 2011, so they know children by name, by temperament and by what makes them tick. Families notice that continuity quickly.

Meet our teachers and staff at Primrose School of Eagan.

We serve children from six weeks through Kindergarten, with a classroom for every stage:

  • Infant (6 weeks–1 year)
  • Toddler (1–2 years)
  • Early Preschool (2–3 years)
  • Preschool Pathways (bridge classroom for older twos and young threes with late birthdays)
  • Preschool (3–4 years)
  • Pre-K (4–5 years)
  • Private Kindergarten (select enrollment)

Our youngest classrooms — Infant through Preschool Pathways — are part of the Primrose Wonder Program. Children move through classrooms as they grow, with teachers who already know them.

Music, art, character development, and physical development are woven into every classroom day through our Balanced Learning® curriculum — not pulled out as separate events, but present in the rhythm of how children learn here.

  • Conversational Spanish — In our Preschool through Kindergarten classrooms (the Primrose Venture Program), children learn Spanish words, phrases and sentences through Mucho Mundo®, included in tuition.
  • Character Development — Our Happy Hearts® program uses storytelling, role-play, and the Primrose Friends puppets to teach kindness, responsibility, and empathy across every age group.
  • Children’s Choice Learning Centers — In younger classrooms, children direct their own exploration, deciding what to engage with, how to use materials, and for how long.
  • Outdoor Learning — Our age-specific playground areas and Primrose Patch garden extend the same spirit of curiosity into fresh air every day.
  • Inquiry-Based Learning — In Preschool through Kindergarten classrooms, children move through a cycle of play, exploration, discussion, and demonstration that reflects how children actually build knowledge.

The Balanced Learning® curriculum is developed with the Primrose Early Learning Council, a panel of nationally recognized experts in early childhood education, and updated continuously as research evolves.

Children at Primrose School of Eagan stay active indoors through our Thumbs Up!® physical development program, which builds gross motor skills into every day rather than limiting movement to a designated space or scheduled gym time.

Our teachers actively convert classrooms into movement experiences, with running, jumping, balancing, throwing, catching and coordination challenges woven into the daily routine. Every activity is closely supervised by the classroom teacher who is already familiar with your child’s needs and routine, so children can move freely while staying safe and engaged.

Yes, Primrose School of Eagan holds regular parent-teacher conferences for Preschool classrooms and above, with conferences available by request for younger classrooms. Families of every age group receive progress updates throughout the year.

We track each child’s development through Ages & Stages Questionnaires®, normed academic measures and Evidence of Learning Portfolios, giving teachers and families a documented record of progress over time. Because many of our teachers have known our children for years, conferences go well beyond a standard check-in.

Between conferences, our family app keeps you connected with real-time updates and photos throughout the day.

Tuition varies by classroom and schedule. Every family receives the same all-inclusive program:

  • Daily education through our Balanced Learning® curriculum
  • Nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks prepared on-site
  • Real-time communication and photos through our family app
  • Child development assessments including Ages & Stages Questionnaires® and Evidence of Learning Portfolios
  • Character development and life skills programming
  • Family-teacher conferences

Schedule an introduction call and we’ll walk you through the specifics for your child’s age and program.

Yes, Primrose School of Eagan offers both.

Full-time enrollment is four or five days per week. Part-time options follow a consistent weekly schedule — typically Monday/Wednesday/Friday for three-day families, or Tuesday/Thursday for two-day families — so children have predictable routines and classrooms maintain the right mix of peers. Many families begin part-time while their child settles in and move to full-time over time. For scheduling questions specific to your child’s age, our office is the right place to start.

Yes, Primrose School of Eagan offers Summer Adventure Club for families already part of our school community, including graduating Kindergarten students, Pre-K children moving up, and select siblings and returning families. Because space is reserved for our current families, please contact our office directly with any questions about summer availability.

Our front office is staffed throughout the day, and every arrival is met by someone who knows your family. Access requires secure keypad entry, and only adults on your authorized pickup list may collect your child. We ask families to keep that list current — and our team holds to it without exception.

Children and staff must stay home until fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication, and until respiratory symptoms have cleared. If a child becomes ill during the day, we contact the family right away. Beyond the policy itself, we maintain a broader health environment throughout the school:

  • Handwashing embedded in daily routines
  • High-touch surfaces and toys sanitized regularly throughout the day
  • Teachers trained to recognize early signs of illness
  • Individual cots and blankets for every child, laundered weekly
  • Bryant Evolution™ air purification technology — the same standard used in hospitals — re-purifying indoor air up to eight times per hour

A healthy school takes consistent effort, and this is where we put it.

We ask families to provide diapers from home. The reason is simple — children do best with the same diaper they use consistently, and families know what works for their child. Using a single brand across a classroom introduces variability that can lead to discomfort or irritation for some children. Bringing diapers from home is one small way we keep your child’s experience at school as consistent as possible with their experience at home.

Start by scheduling an introduction call through our website or by contacting our office directly. During that call we’ll learn about your child and your family’s needs, walk you through our programs and tuition, and answer any questions you have before you visit. From there, we’ll schedule a tour of the school where you’ll see our classrooms in action and meet our team in person. We do our best to respond to every inquiry promptly — or you can schedule a specific time directly through our website that works for your schedule.

No, Primrose School of Eagan does not follow the school district calendar and stays open during cold weather and snow unless the safety of children or staff is genuinely at risk. District closures are often driven by busing logistics, which isn’t a factor for us. On rare occasions, we open two hours late when staff need additional time to travel safely, so working families can count on consistent care through the winter.
