During Summer Adventure Club, we are committed to:

- Storing lunches in insulated coolers with ice packs to maintain safe temperatures until mealtime.
- Providing frequent water breaks and encouraging hydration throughout outdoor activities and field trips.
- Monitoring weather conditions and adjusting activities when temperatures or weather conditions may impact children’s safety.
- Following sunscreen procedures in accordance with family authorization and school policies.
- Maintaining teacher-to-child ratios that meet or exceed Illinois DCFS licensing requirements during all Summer Adventure Club activities and field trips.
- Requiring all staff participating in field trips to complete annual field trip safety training and emergency preparedness training.
- Carrying emergency contact information, medications, and first aid supplies for children with documented medical needs while away from the school.
- Following individualized allergy, medication, and emergency action plans for children with documented health conditions.
- Ensuring all adults accompanying children follow Primrose transportation safety policies and procedures.
- Conducting attendance checks before departure, upon arrival, throughout each field trip, and before returning to school to ensure every child is safely accounted for.
- Requiring all drivers and vehicles used for transportation to meet applicable licensing, insurance, and safety requirements.
- Providing child safety seats or booster seats whenever required by Illinois law, with staff trained on proper installation and usage before transporting children.
