Bill Smith, Kristy Smith, Jana Thurman and Randy Thurman

We are Bill and Kristy Smith and Primrose School at Walsh is our third school. We have owned and operated the Primrose School of Columbus Trail and the Primrose School of Fort Worth at Mira Vista, accredited private preschools, since 2007, providing premier educational childcare experience. Even though we have owned schools for nearly twenty years and we have brought many years of experience in the business world, it has been our children who have taught us the most important lessons. When we first began, we had a choice to make when deciding whether to purchase a preschool or a daycare, just as you do when choosing childcare. We chose Primrose in 2007 because Primrose Schools offers more than a daycare experience, and we continue to invest in Primrose by building and operating Primrose School at Walsh.

Our goal is to ensure that children in Walsh, Fort Worth, and Aledo are loved and cared for in an environment that fosters a lifelong love of learning. Primrose School At Walsh provides an atmosphere where children can grow their Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®.

Jana Thurman started at a Primrose School in Texas in 2003. Jana quickly fell in love with Primrose. When it came time to take the next step in her career, Jana knew Primrose Schools was the right choice because the Primrose curriculum represents the best for young students, and the culture matched her values and leadership beliefs. Jana began as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and quickly advanced to Curriculum Director, then as the School Director, and continued to grow with Primrose. Her journey has given her experience as a teacher, curriculum director, school director, and area director. This ultimately led her to join Bill and Kristy Smith as a Franchise Owner in September 2025.

Jana has been married to her husband, Randy, for 34 years. Randy is also a Primrose advocate as well as a business owner. Jana and Randy have a wonderful family of 2 children and five grandchildren.

Teaching and mentoring to give back to their community and church are a priority for Randy and Jana.

In 2025, Jana was honored to partner with Bill and Kristy Smith. As their former Executive Area Director, she witnessed firsthand the exemplary approach to Primrose’s outstanding education, the accredited curriculum, and character development program that their schools implement daily.

Together, the ownership team has 40 years of Primrose service, instilling active minds, healthy bodies, and happy hearts in young children entrusted to our care. Who children become is as important as what they know, which is a belief that is at the core of the Primrose Balanced Learning®  approach. Developed by and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools, the research-based curriculum balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence, and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and families in our schools.

We are proud to be a part of both this organization and the lives of our families. We enjoy working with the great staff and continuing with the educational philosophy that Primrose offers. We are active in visiting children and parents, and we welcome suggestions at any time. We are proud of our students, parents, management team, and teaching staff.

Primrose at Walsh is located at 13829 Walsh Ave, Aledo, TX 76008.
