Primrose School Virginia Beach South is looking for Full time Assistant Teachers to join our team!

This position works year round Monday-Friday with a set schedule working 9:00-6:00pm, with pay starting at $15.50/hr. (No weekends and guaranteed 40 hours a week!)

You would be working with the following age groups:

• Infants
• Toddlers
• Two-year-olds
• Preschool/ Pre-K

The ideal candidate must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency and Primrose School of Virginia Beach Standards such as/but not limited to:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Negative TB screening upon first day of employment
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs in connection with handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.

Desired Qualifications:

• Previous teaching/childcare experience preferred

The responsibilities consist of:

• Assist with supervision and daily classroom functions
• Provides the children with verbal praises and acceptance while providing clear and consistent expectations for the children’s behavior.
• Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas and playgrounds.
• Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, nap time and bathroom activities.
• Maintains the Primrose Schools professional attire, attitude and work behavior.
• Attends all required staff meetings, workshops and/or school functions as determined by the Leadership Team.
