Susan and Chris Bartlett

As an occupational therapist in the public school system for more than 10 years and the mother of three, Susan Bartlett is now pursuing her dream to open her own preschool. Her and her husband Chris are bringing the sixth Primrose School to the Phoenix market and the first in Gilbert, AZ. “Kids say the darndest things” Susan said. “I have been working with kids my whole life and seeing that excitement in their eyes and their love of life makes it such a rewarding career.” Looking for a way to combine Susan’s experience in education with Chris’ business background, the couple decided to open a business that would make a positive impact on the lives of the children and families in their local community. “We wanted to merge both of our skill sets and Primrose is giving us that opportunity”, Susan said. “We also knew there was a need for Primrose in the area because the accredited curriculum and compassion of the teachers is exactly what we were looking for as parents, but couldn’t find for our children.” The Bartletts were first introduced to Primrose through friends who were exploring the franchise opportunity. After taking the trip to the company’s home office and meeting with the team charged with developing the exclusive Primrose curriculum, it only took the Bartletts a few short months to commit to opening a new school to Gilbert. “We love this community and we’re looking forward to seeing our students grow and learn each day they spend at our school. Being able to help them achieve their goals is very special and exciting for me.” The Bartletts have lived in the Phoenix area for more than 20 years and are parents of three girls, ages nine, six and three. They spend a lot of time attending their children’s activities, whether it be soccer, gymnastics or swimming.
