Primrose School of Richardson

The health and safety of our staff and the children entrusted to our care is our top priority. We are proud to maintain high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Health & Safety Practices in Place

  • We are requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 72 hours. We are also monitoring other symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, cough and nasal congestion in the children to ensure that they are healthy.
  • Every classroom is required to have frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys. Teachers are required to disinfect and sanitize all of their toys during naptime and at the end of the day. Teachers are provided with a bin labeled “dirty toys” where they are to put away any toys that a child has played with and touched during the day in order to stop the spread of germs.
  • All doors, door handles, windows and cabinet handles are disinfected in the morning, during naptime and in the evening. Every room in the school is also fogged at the end of the day to combat any pathogens in the air.
  • Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols. Teachers and students are required to wash their hands right upon entering their classroom, before eating, after eating and after going outside.
  • Teachers have been trained on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind. Teachers are required to notify management if they see any symptoms of illness in children and parents are notified right away to pick up their child.
  • Daily laundering of crib sheets for all children that take a nap, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered every day.
  • Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios.
  • Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access.
