Welcome to Primrose Schools!

We are Tim and Julie Henry, the proud owners of the Primrose School of North Murfreesboro and the Primrose School of Spring Hill.

Our Primrose story began in 2010 shortly after the birth of our first child, Sophia. We lived in downtown Atlanta, GA at the time and struggled to find quality child care in the area. During our search, we discovered the Primrose School of Midtown at Colony Square, and after a tour quickly knew this was the type of place that would fit our needs as working parents and provide the best care for our daughter. Between the overall atmosphere, friendly staff and incredible balanced-learning curriculum, we knew we wanted to be part of the Primrose family forever. Within just 6 weeks, we saw major developmental progress in our then-six-month-old. She loved going to school! She even began to use sign language to communicate with us, though it took us a few weeks to realize that was what she was doing.

In 2013, we moved to Franklin and began construction on our first Primrose School in Spring Hill, wanting to build a business that would help other families benefit from the curriculum and structure Primrose Schools offers. At this time, Julie was pregnant with our second child, Carson. Between caring for our 3-year-old Sophia, building a business, and having a baby; we were very busy! In late 2014 we opened the Primrose School of Spring Hill, and after years of hard work delivering on our promises to parents and building a fantastic team, we earned the reputation as the best preschool in Spring Hill. Wanting to provide even more families with a quality early education for their children, in 2017 we decided to build another school in the greater Nashville area. After almost two years of searching, we found a great location in the fast-growing city of Murfreesboro.

Well before we had a family or a business, Julie earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Emory University and went on to spend two years as a Neonatal ICU nurse. She then made a major career shift to online marketing as an Account Supervisor, where she stayed for eight years. Julie left that position when it was time to focus full-time on building our first Primrose School, which she did nearly single-handedly while pregnant and then caring for an infant. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Georgia State University. As a long-time road cyclist, he worked for years at the amateur bicycle racing level before being offered a contract with a professional cycling team just after college graduation. Tim spent five years as a professional racer, traveling all over the United States and North America. Once Sophia was on the way, he chose to step away from cycling and secured a job with a wine distributor in Atlanta to stay closer to home. Upon the move to Franklin, Tim continued to work in the wine industry until he was able to come on full-time at the Primrose School of Spring Hill. Our two children both graduated from the Kindergarten program at the Primrose School of Spring Hill and now both attend school in Franklin. As a family we love being outdoors, being active, and traveling. In her spare time, Julie likes to paint to relax and run to stay in shape. She has completed 2 half marathons and had been planning on a third in late 2020 until it was canceled like many things in 2020. Tim still enjoys cycling and has taken up running as well. Tim has also competed in 2 half marathons and had planned to complete another one in late 2020.

Who children become is as important as what they know is a belief that is at the core of our Balanced Learning® approach. Our exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing early learning experience for children and their families.

We are excited to meet you and your family!
