Ms. Cindy
My name is Cindy, and I am thrilled to join the Primrose School of Memphis family. I hail from Kansas City, Missouri, and earned my Business Administration degree from Baker University. In 2006, my husband, Jason, and I relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, with our two incredible children.
To keep our family active, we enrolled in taekwondo classes together. Inspired by this experience, I began teaching and training for nine years, eventually earning my third-degree black belt. While pursuing this passion, I also returned to school and completed my Education degree from the University of Mississippi. Over the past two decades, I have honed my teaching and caregiving skills, working with children of all ages.
I am incredibly excited to embark on this new journey as the Director of Primrose School of Memphis at Germantown. My passion lies in providing high-quality educational childcare to our community, and I am eager to leverage my extensive experience to help our children develop into lifelong learners of education and life.

Ms. Ginger
I have lived in Memphis and the surrounding areas most of my life and am proud to call this community home. I am married and blessed with five amazing children and eight precious grandchildren who bring so much joy to my life.
For over 15 years, my husband and I have co-owned a Taekwondo school, where our primary focus has been teaching children leadership and essential life skills. We emphasize values such as respect, honesty, perseverance, integrity, and self-control, helping children grow not only physically, but also in character and confidence.
I have worked with children of all ages for more than 25 years and have spent four years in early childhood education, serving in both teaching and administrative roles. I am passionate about creating nurturing environments where children feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Seeing children learn, laugh, and thrive is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
I am truly overjoyed to be part of the Primrose School of Memphis at Germantown. It is a privilege to work alongside a team that shares a deep heart for children and possesses the knowledge and dedication to support their academic growth and character development.

Melissa Smith & Jhessa Smith
Welcome to Primrose School of Memphis at Germantown! We are proud to bring high-quality preschool and child care to young children and families in the Memphis, TN and Germantown community.
About Melissa Smith:
I’m excited that we are the first to bring high-quality educational child care to families in our area. I was born and raised in DeSoto County, MS and live there with my husband of 16 years, Greg. We have a blended family of six children, four sons and two daughters, which has blessed our family with ten grandchildren.
My kindergarten teacher helped me through a difficult time in my life, and I knew I wanted to be that person for someone else. I’ve spent the last 15 years working in public education. After starting out as a teacher assistant in an elementary school, I taught physical education and kindergarten there and went on to teach high school. My drive and determination to be a difference maker remains at the forefront of who I am, and I am thrilled to welcome new families into the Primrose community, foster a love of learning in young minds, and most importantly, to be able to do this alongside my family.
About Jhessa Smith:
My husband, Paxton, and I are both working parents who previously struggled to find quality child care for our young children near Memphis. In 2022, we welcomed our lovely daughter into the world and in 2024, we were blessed with our sweet son. Before moving back to Memphis for the military, we discovered Primrose Schools® in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and immediately fell in love with the Balanced Learning® curriculum and safety features that Primrose offered.
I grew up in the Memphis area, graduated from Center Hill High School and married my high school sweetheart. I earned a business administration degree from Mississippi State University and went on to obtain a degree in early childhood education from Texas A&M. I have spent the last eight years working at military child care centers at numerous bases, and I’m ecstatic to bring high-quality child care to my home.
At Primrose, we believe who children become is as important as what they know. Our exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We deliver more than a curriculum; it’s a life-changing experience for children and their families.
We are excited to meet you and your family!
