Primrose School would love to meet your family.
Schedule A TourIt is our pleasure to introduce you to the Primrose School of Manhattan at East 82nd! Our school is now open and is the first Primrose in the greater New York City area. If you aren’t familiar with Primrose, then let’s start at the top - Primrose’s core principle is that who children become is just as important as what they know. Primrose’s time-tested (40 years!) Balanced Learning® approach emphasizes the development of the child through purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers. Our team encourages curiosity, confidence, and compassion. The program delivers more than a curriculum: it’s a life-changing, early learning experience for children and their families… and if you are familiar with Primrose then you know that we are the leader in early education and provides the premier learning environment in over 465 schools nationwide!
Our school is majority owned by Matt Grossman. Matt lives in New York City and is raising his children on the Upper East Side. He also owns three Primrose schools in Georgia. Matt’s operating partner is Wendy Jones, an accomplished entrepreneur who was previously on the Executive Team at Primrose headquarters in Atlanta.
Together, they are proud to bring an unparalleled early education experience to the families of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Our goal is to provide a diverse, inclusive environment for children and families that is representative of the thriving neighborhood in which we’re located.

We are conveniently located on East 82nd St, a short walk from the Bayard Taylor School and down the road from East Side Elementary School. Unlike an ordinary daycare in New York City, we provide your child with a robust early education and child care experience.
Infant, Toddler, Early Preschool, Preschool Pathways, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten
At Primrose, your child will get more than an infant daycare experience. Our teachers help your child develop and grow, building one skill upon another, which is why we are the leader in infant child care.
As a parent, a big part of your job is to do your best to safeguard the health of your child — physically, mentally and emotionally. This task has never been easy, but it’s especially challenging right now.
STEAM projects can help your child with their problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Try these at home activities based on your child’s classroom.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to early learning, and all of the different options for your little one may seem overwhelming.
Often times the Holiday Season brings irregular schedules for your little ones. Here are some tips on getting back into a routine before school starts.
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
Our new exclusive Harmony & Heart® program integrates our proprietary music and books in a variety of thoughtful ways each day. Through learning about music, while simultaneously being exposed to concepts in math, language, and character development, your child will grow as a musician, a student, and a person.
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.
It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
