Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.

Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.

All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm.

Connecting school to home is one of the ways we help children thrive. We use the Procare app to share daily updates and photos so you stay connected to your child’s joy, learning and special moments

Health and safety is our top priority, and we work closely with families to accommodate allergies and medical needs. We ask that parents provide detailed information during enrollment so we can create a safe plan for their child. All Primrose schools are nut-free facilities.

Primrose School of Gaithersburg is located right down the road from the National Institute of Standards & Technology and Kentlands Market Square, we are conveniently located on Wind River Lane.

We close for holidays, including New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the day after, and Christmas Day, so families can plan ahead each season.

Every day at Primrose School of Gaithersburg, our caring teachers combine structured learning, purposeful play and rest into a rhythm suited to every age group, integrated with circle time, small-group lessons, Children’s Choice Learning Centers, meals and rest. 

Children who attend our school also have additional activities throughout the week, including our Enrichment Programs Zoology with Benjamin and Cooking with Molly, with other sports and movement activities and programs also available.

School readiness begins in our Infant program and grows through every stage of our Balanced Learning® approach, with each year building the academic, social-emotional and life skills children need for future success.

No. Our teachers work one-on-one with each family to support potty training at whatever pace fits your child, keeping the same approach at school and at home.

Yes! Primrose School of Gaithersburg has a dedicated outdoor playground for regular exploration and gross motor activities, giving children daily outdoor play as part of their routine.  

Our staff stay involved throughout outdoor time, running daily safety checks and keeping close supervision as children play. With regular safety inspections, environmental monitoring and weather-related precautions built into our routine, we help make outdoor time secure for every child.

Of course! Our on-site chef prepares breakfast, lunch and snacks fresh each day in our own culinary kitchen, all part of our Balanced Menus. Breakfast rotates through options like bagels, cereal and English muffins, all served with fruit.  

Our lunch menus include favorites like a rice and mashed beans burrito, mac and cheese with peaches and green beans, chicken tenders with sweet potato fries, a chicken and cheese quesadilla, and chicken Alfredo with green beans and kiwi, giving children variety and proper nutrition throughout the week.  

All foods and meals are selected and prepared to suit each age group.

We work closely with each family to build an individualized plan, so your child eats safely and confidently at our school. 

Our teachers and kitchen staff are trained to accommodate gluten, wheat and celiac needs, peanut and tree nut allergies, milk and dairy allergies, egg allergies, as well as vegetarian, vegan, kosher and halal diets.

Our Balanced Learning® approach is designed to meet children where they are. Teachers adapt activities, instruction and support to match each child’s developmental stage and learning needs.  

Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance, we help every child build confidence and grow at their own pace.  

For families working with outside early intervention or special education providers, our teachers welcome ongoing communication to help support the child’s experience in the classroom.

Every classroom at Primrose School of Gaithersburg follows a Safe School Plan, with monthly drills that keep our team prepared to respond calmly and quickly. We keep the plan updated and share changes with families.

We use an app to keep families connected throughout the day, sharing photos, classroom activities, curriculum information, nap updates and diaper change and bathroom visit notifications. The app also supports two-way communication, so staying in touch with your child’s teachers is simple.  

We value open, ongoing communication and connect with families in person during drop-off and pick-up to talk through your child’s day, answer questions and share observations from the classroom.
