Make the First Five Years Count

We’re more than an ordinary Fort Collins daycare. We know how young children learn best, which is why our Balanced Learning® approach combines plenty of purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers.

Nikole and Jesse Mateyka

We are the proud owners, Nikole and Jesse Mateyka, of Primrose School of Fort Collins. As parents we fully understand how difficult it is to find high-quality, safe child care. My husband and I chose this adventure because we were Primrose parents ourselves. Our daughter enrolled when she was three and a half years old. From our first tour, we were impressed by the curriculum and care at her school. We saw her grow in leaps and bounds, and the culture made her excited about the learning process.  Ultimately, she thrived due to the Balanced Learning® approach, the brand’s commitment to excellence and the overall warmth of the school staff. Thanks to Primrose, she entered kindergarten prepared both academically and socially. It was the best decision we could have made for her.

Prior to becoming a Franchise Owner, Nikole spent her career helping children and families including working with the Department of Human Services in the Child Protective Services branch and supporting programs that assist Colorado Medicaid members with better overall health and wellness outcomes. Jesse’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to start and maintain many businesses throughout his career, and he is passionate about team building, culture development and growing businesses to their full potential.

While Nikole is from Maryland, Jesse is a Colorado native. (However, Nikole likes to say she got here as soon as she could.) Nikole finished her master’s program at Colorado State University and has loved Fort Collins ever since. Jesse pursued his college degrees at the University of Colorado in his hometown of Boulder and Metro State University of Denver. While the paths might have been different, we both consider Colorado home. On the weekends, we love taking our daughter Scarlett and our dog Livia to the mountains. In our free time, you can find us ATVing, hiking, skiing or engaging in anything else the outdoors has to offer.

“Who children become is as important as what they know” is a belief that is at the core of our Balanced Learning approach. Our exclusive early learning approach balances purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion. We are proud to offer the Primrose experience and can’t wait to welcome you to the Primrose community.

Our family would love to meet yours.
