Kim Shannon
Hello, my name is Kim Shannon, and I am happily married with two grown daughters. During my career in education, I have instructed children from infants to teens. I have over 30 years of experience and have earned my bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. I also possess a CDA, a Directors’ Credential and VPK certification. I have served in the capacity of teacher, director, and executive director. I have been employed with Primrose since 2010, first as Director for Primrose St Johns Forest then as Area Director over 3 Primrose Schools in Jacksonville. I had the opportunity to open Primrose School on Crosswater Parkway as the Director in 2017. With the expansion of four additional classrooms, I am now the Executive Director. I am truly passionate about children and their early education. I am happy to be a part of the Primrose family. I welcome you to our Primrose family and please let me know how I can be of assistance to you.
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education
My favorite thing about working with children is when they light up with the gratification of learning something for the first time!
My favorite children’s book is The Giving tree by Shel Silverstein, which is a classic written in 1964 which reveals kindness and caring for others instead of ourselves.
In my personal time I interact with my five dogs, wakeboard, paddleboard and kayak or swim. I love curling up with my puppy and a delightful book as well!

Franchise Owners
Ken and Susan Muller
Ken and Susan Muller relocated from Maryland to purchase the Primrose School of Julington Creek and the Primrose School at St. Johns Forest in January 2007. In 2012, they opened Primrose School of Glen Kernan off of Hodges BLVD in Jacksonville, FL. In October of 2016, The Muller’s sold Primrose School of Julington Creek and Primrose School at St. Johns, but maintained ownership of Primrose School of Glen Kernan. Ken and Susan opened Primrose School on Crosswater Parkway in Nocatee in August 2017 and are excited about the new expansion adding 4 additional classrooms in February 2024.
The Muller’s have two children, Sean and Abigail, who attended the St. Johns Forest school. Ken, a Computer Specialist, and Susan, an Attorney, learned about Primrose Schools after researching the industry because they were unhappy with the childcare options for their children. The Muller’s recognize the importance of Early Childhood Care and Education and are committed to being your partner in your child’s development. The Muller’s are also actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the schools to best ensure that the schools are nurturing, happy and safe environments for all the children.
