As an Assistant Teacher at Primrose School of Ankeny at Prairie Trail, you’ll embark on an exciting journey of discovery alongside a classroom of young children. You’ll build trusted relationships with families as you provide nurturing care and help children develop their foundation. Our exclusive digital learning platform provides everything you need to create joyful learning experiences for the students in your care.
Schedule: flexible full-time or part-time between 6:30am and 6pm Monday – Friday
Hourly Wage: $14.50-16.00 based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:
- Passionately believe in, and positively communicate, model, and implement all aspects of the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach to teaching and learning.
- Create a culture of engagement with lead teacher and co-teachers.
- Assist with student assessments throughout the year as per Primrose requirements.
- Complete student portfolios according to Primrose expectations.
- Consistently operate within Iowa licensing requirements and Primrose standards.
- Assist with back to school and new student needs as necessary.
- Actively participate in staff meetings and special events.
- Operate with integrity, honesty, and a positive disposition while maintaining confidentiality.
- Work collaboratively with Leadership Team members and other staff for other duties as assigned to ensure a premium experience for students, families and teachers.
Requirements:
- Must meet requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
- Passion for nurturing and educating young children.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- Relevant early childhood and/or child care experience preferred.
