See What Families Are Saying

We are in love with our school! As a parent I feel like I can truly depend on the teachers and administrators to have clear and effective communication with me. Also, my children have been coming home knowing things I did not even expect them to learn at their ages! Truly a gem of a school!

Primrose is the BEST!! The owners, teachers and staff are exceptional. My daughter attended Primrose at Westerre Commons for three years. She moved on to elementary school, we cried for two days. The food, hours and location are what brought me in but.... the staff, teachers and owners are great! All around this school is the BEST!!

I couldn't be happier with my kids' preschool experience. From the moment I drop them off, I feel a sense of safety and trust in the schedule and the environment. Knowing they are being loved, learning, and developing in all areas brings me immense peace of mind. The teachers are incredible- loving, caring, and truly invested in my kids' growth. I trust each one of them wholeheartedly. The nurturing atmosphere at this preschool makes me feel confident that my children are in the best hands possible.

We follow the Balanced Learning® approach, exclusively developed by Primrose Schools®, to nurture the whole child intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.

Through Balanced Learning®, our dedicated teachers create engaging learning experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.

By thoughtfully combining purposeful play, guided discovery and nurturing support, we help your child build age-appropriate skills, learn and thrive, from our Infant classroom through After School Care.

Each day, our caring teachers combine structured learning, purposeful play and rest into a rhythm suited to every age group, with circle time, small-group lessons, Children’s Choice Learning Centers and meals built into the schedule.

Optional gymnastics and soccer enrichment programs are also available for interested families.

At Primrose School at Westerre Commons, school readiness begins in our Infant program and grows through every stage of our Balanced Learning® approach, with each year building the academic, social-emotional and life skills children need for future success.

Using balanced assessments and ongoing teacher observations, we monitor each child’s development, individualize learning experiences and partner with families through regular communication to support a confident transition to kindergarten and beyond.

No, our teachers work one-on-one with each family to support potty training at your child’s own pace, keeping the routine consistent between school and home.

Yes, Primrose School at Westerre Commons has four separate, secure, age-specific playgrounds, so children of every age have their own space to explore and plenty of outdoor time as part of their daily schedule.

Our playgrounds are carefully monitored to ensure children can explore, play and learn safely. Staff remain actively involved in children’s play experiences, perform daily safety checks and maintain constant supervision.

By combining daily safety inspections with ongoing environmental monitoring and weather-related precautions, our caring staff help create a secure outdoor experience for every child.

Yes, our After School Care program includes afternoon pickup from six area elementary schools: Ruby Carver, Gayton, Nuckols Farm, Pinchbeck, Short Pump, Rivers Edge and Springfield Park.

Once here, children head straight into homework time, and there’s still plenty of the afternoon left for outdoor play before we close at 6:30 p.m.

Of course! We serve a morning and afternoon snack and lunch daily.

Our on-site chef prepares lunch and snacks fresh each day in our own culinary kitchen, all part of our Balanced Menus. Our menus meet USDA guidelines and include a wide variety of fruits and vegetables and other nutrient dense, minimally processed foods.

All foods and meals are age-appropriate and nutritious, so children can enjoy them safely and build healthy eating habits.

We work closely with each family to build an individualized plan, so your child eats safely and confidently at our school.

Our facility is nut free and can accommodate dietary restrictions such as vegetarian diets or specific food allergies. Our kitchen staff and teachers are trained to ensure foods are prepared and served safely.

Our Balanced Learning® approach is designed to meet children where they are. Teachers adapt activities, instruction and support to match each child’s developmental stage and learning needs.

Through purposeful play and nurturing guidance, we help every child build confidence and grow at their own pace. For families working with outside early intervention or special education providers, our teachers welcome ongoing communication to help support the child’s experience in the classroom.
