Meet Dona and Roland Young, proud Franchise Owners of Primrose School of West Chester and two Primrose schools located on corporate campuses of the Procter & Gamble (P&G) Company: Primrose School at P&G GO Child Development Center and Primrose School at P&G Winton Hill Child Development Center.
The Youngs – who have three grown children – have been married over 40 years. They decided to join the Primrose Family because they love children, believe in the importance of meaningful educational experiences and want to help families balance the demands of their careers and family lives. The couple moved to Cincinnati in 2010 to open their first Primrose School, and opened Primrose Schools on two of P&G’s campuses in January 2017.
Before becoming a Franchise Owner, Dona served as chairman, president and CEO of a Fortune 1000 company that provides life, annuity and asset management products. During the course of her 30-year career, she has honed a passion for education, talent development, business and corporate governance. Dona serves on three corporate boards and also serves on the board of the Saint James School, a preparatory school in Maryland. An active business consultant, Dona provides high-level guidance and support for their Primrose schools.
A graduate of Cornell University, Roland practiced law for 30 years and was the managing partner of a Connecticut law firm prior to pursuing his lifelong dream of nurturing and growing a business of his own in the field of education. He has also taught at the junior high, high school and graduate school levels. He has served on various educational and non-profit boards. Roland is a passionate, spirited, and hands-on Franchise Owner who manages the majority of the operations for their three schools. As a litigator, Roland measured his success based on wins for his clients. These days, he measures his success by the hugs and high fives he receives from Primrose children and the developmental accomplishments he witnesses.
Dona and Roland love offering a loving, warm atmosphere where children can grow Active Minds, Healthy Bodies and Happy Hearts®. Longtime supporters of Primrose Schools, the Youngs are thrilled to provide the quality experience they know and love to children and families in the Cincinnati area.
Their three Primrose schools feature the Balanced Learning® curriculum in infant through Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. Developed and taught exclusively at Primrose Schools, the research-informed curriculum blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.
We are conveniently located on New Street, down the road from Rothenberg Elementary School and ten minutes from William Howard Taft Elementary School. Unlike an ordinary daycare in Cincinnati, we provide your child with a robust early education and child care experience.
Infant, Toddler, Early Preschool, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten
At Primrose, your child will get more than an infant daycare experience. Our teachers help your child develop and grow, building one skill upon another, which is why we are the leader in infant child care.
Big emotions such as anger or fear can be difficult for a child to manage. Read about ways you can help them work through it with ease.
Teachers at Primrose schools get to see the fruits of their labor every day as the children they teach improve their skills and confidence — from a baby learning to sit up to a preschooler forging their first friendship and so much more.
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.
It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
