  • Roques Family

Family of the Month: February 2023

Meet our February 2023 Family of the Month: The Roques Family! "Hello! We are the Roques family: Greg (Dad), Rebecca (Mom), Midnight (cat), and of course Esti, our 18-month-old daughter who has been attending Primrose since she was three months old. Esti is at such an exciting age where she is learning new words and new ways to explore the world around her every day. We love coloring together, seeing how high we can stack blocks, and blowing bubbles and counting how many Esti can pop while she giggles with glee. We have been overjoyed with Esti’s Primrose experience. We love receiving pictures through the app during the day of her playing with her friends. It’s also exciting when we read together before bedtime to hear her mimic animals sounds and recognize objects in the pictures that she is learning about during the day. Most importantly, Esti has had some gross motor delays and is working with therapists to improve her muscle strength and coordination; the staff at Primrose have been nothing but supportive, flexible and accommodating. They help her with her prescribed exercises and are always happy to provide detailed feedback on her progress for us to share with her specialists. We know that her teachers believe in her, and their encouragement has boosted Esti’s confidence as she continues to progress in her developmental milestones. We could not be more thankful to the staff at the Peachtree Corners Primrose for the love and attention they give to our daughter every single day. Esti always has a big smile on her face when we drop her off and pick her up, so we know she loves them too." Roques Family, thank you for bringing so much love and joy to our Primrose Family! We are so grateful to have been a part of Esti's first year and have loved watching her grow into the spunky little girl she is today! 💗

Family of the Month; A Trusted Partnership

"Hello! We are the Lane family and we've been attending Primrose for almost 1 year. We are Georgia natives, Dad (Jonathan) being from Augusta and Mom (Debbie) is from Marietta and both boys Carter and Andrew being born here in Atlanta. When we're not having fun at school we enjoy spending time outdoors, either in our backyard on our new playground that Santa brought us, or riding our bikes and playing soccer at one of the great local parks. We also like to go swimming at Lake Lanier or at our Nana's pool in Augusta whenever we visit. We have two dogs at home, Clark and Penny, who we love to play with and who love to clean up after snack times too! We also enjoy working in the yard planting flowers and keeping our house looking it's best. Carter especially is chief stick-picker-upper and keeps any that fall from our trees cleared away."

"We are so lucky to have found our way to Primrose School of Peachtree Corners. The excitement the children have each morning is amazing. The school and its wonderful staff continue to make us feel loved and safe. This was especially true during the height of the pandemic. PSPC was so supportive of each family and the individual decisions that we made. The fact they remained open through the duration and kept every family apprised of any updates and changes meant so much to us and was a big part of keeping things “normal” for our children.

"Our little family consists of Adam (dad), Amanda (mom), and Amelia (Millie). Our favorite things to do as a family are going for walks and riding bikes around the neighborhood. Millie's favorite activities include singing and reading and she loves to make up her own little songs. After trying out a couple of other daycares, we just couldn't find one that fit with our family. Millie had a gross motor delay early in her life and was very late reaching her milestones. It wasn't until we found Primrose that she really began to take off. Within her first week she started walking and she really started coming out of her shell becoming the talkative, outgoing girl we know her as today. We are so grateful to the staff at Primrose for their role in helping Millie become who she is and for their efforts to keep everyone safe during this pandemic. I can't imagine her being anywhere else and I'm so glad we found Primrose when we did."

    Parent Communication

We believe part of what makes your child's learning experience at Primrose so unique is dependent upon the trusted partnerships and open communication we establish with parents. To further this goal, we are excited to share with you our school-to-home connection, ProCare Connect. ProCare Connect allows our teachers to capture your child’s special moments throughout the day, take photos and videos of him in action, and share those with you through the ProCare Connect parent app, with the ultimate goal of giving you a glimpse of his Primrose experience firsthand. You can even choose to share your child’s learning and play experiences with your friends and family. To capture this information in real-time, each classroom is equipped with an iPad, used specifically to share information about your child’s day. All information captured is considered private communication between our school and our families. No personal information is shared with any external parties, and each parent will receive emails specific only to their child. We are always looking to strengthen our parent partnership and fully engage our families in their child's Primrose experience.

Family of the Month: A Trusted Partnership

We've been a Primrose family for four years now (two at Primrose Peachtree Corners) and we couldn't be happier with the care Madison and Alex receive. As two full-time working parents our plates are full, and it's reassuring to know that each day our children are thriving thanks to the amazing teachers and thoughtful curriculum. They love going to school to see their friends, we love to see them building new relationships. The care and interest that the teachers and leadership team take in each and every child is truly heartwarming. We really are one, big happy family at Primrose PTC! When we aren't at Primrose, our family enjoys being outdoors for walks or hikes, eating delicious food, family dance parties and attending/watching UGA football games. Jon is a sales/account manager and Janice is in marketing. Madison likes arts & crafts and Paw Patrol, Alex enjoys whatever his big sister is doing!

Family of the Month: A Trusted Partnership

"When we moved to Peachtree Corners 2 1/2 years ago we knew the hardest part of the move would be finding a new preschool for Henry. With one parent being a teacher we knew the importance of a strong educational foundation. But we also recognized that the social and emotional growth would be just as important. Our goal was to find a preschool where we could drop him off every day knowing that above all he would be nurtured, cared for, and loved. From our first visit to Primrose Peachtree Corners we knew we had found a school with it all. From the friendliest directors to greet you when you walk in, to the teachers interacting and engaging with the kids in every room we visited, we knew we could drop our kids off every day with confidence that they would receive the best. Watching Henry move up from Toddler A to Preschool has been such a pleasure. He had truly loved all of his teachers and has blossomed into such a smart, funny, sweet boy. He continues to amaze us with the things he learns in school. Leaving your baby for the first time is hard, but when it was time to drop Madelyn off for her first day of daycare we were so happy to have such a wonderful daycare family to leave her with. Thank you for loving, caring for, and teaching our babies when we aren't there to do it ourselves."

Family of the Month: A Trusted Partnership

Our trio consists of Mom (Naima) who is a proud Florida Gator hailing from West Palm Beach. When not making the world a safer place for marketing research, she can be found taking a jog, eating a cupcake, playing with the cats, thinking about cupcakes, finding cute clothes for Sydney, and eating delicious food…and cupcakes! Dad (Bakari) is a Georgia Bulldog (you can imagine how that goes on Game Day) who works in the veterinary/animal health industry. He can be often be found fishing in any lake, river, pond, or puddle near you. He is also an avid Georgia sports fan (go Braves/Dawgs/Hawks/Falcons/United!) And the mini-master of ceremonies is Sydney! We are so glad to have found Primrose because she is truly blossoming under the amazing guidance of the teachers and staff. Sydney started attending Primrose Peachtree Corners when she was 6 months old and we are constantly amazed at what she has learned and how quickly she has developed. We are looking forward to her next step to Preschool A!

Todd and Melanie Muhlfelder are native Ohoians, who moved to Atlanta nearly 10 years ago and now reside in Johns Creek. Todd, an arborist by trade at a local tree preservation company grew up racing motocross and Melanie, a marketing manager for a local utility company, are childhood best friends. Mason, is 2 and in the Early Preschool room, and Nolan, is 1 and in Toddler A, are 356 days apart, Irish twins! Both of our boys started at Primrose around 3 months old, and we couldn't be happier with our decision to enroll them at Primrose School of Peachtree Corners. As we are both full-time working parents, it was extremely important to us to choose a program that we trusted to not only nurture and support our boys, but also offer curriculum to spark their curiosity and engage their little minds. Primrose has done exactly that, and it is so amazing to watch our boys grow, learn and become smart, fun and good-natured toddlers. From the extremely hard-working and dedicated Directors, to the kind and loving teachers, we drop our boys off everyday trusting that they are in the best care at Primrose. Thank you all for being so amazing and encouraging Mason and Nolan to shine so bright!

Preston, Dawn, and Madison. Preston is an applications engineer and Dawn is an elementary school teacher. Our family loves being outdoors, cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and everything Disney! Madison has been at Primrose for almost a year and we have enjoyed watching her learn and grow. From the moment we first stepped foot into Primrose, it felt like home. Ms. Mary, Madeline, and Elizabeth were very knowledgeable and welcomed us with open arms. With mom in education, a safe, educational environment was important. We were wanting a place that could provide Madison a solid academic background but also help develop our qualities like kindness, thankfulness, community, and accountability to make her more well-rounded person. Seeing her excitement and wanting to go to school in the mornings to coming home talking non-stop about everything she was learning, makes our hearts smile. Primrose has a played a huge role in Madison's development and we could not be more thankful.

Family of the Month: A Trusted Partnership

Jesse and Nikki Springston are the parents of Nolan Springston and his furry brother Jack. They met while attending college at the University of West Georgia where Jesse played baseball. It was only fitting that our son followed in his dad's baseball (and mom's softball!) footsteps, because Nolan LOVES watching and playing Baseball! Nolan will turn 2 in October, and in addition to all the things he is learning every day at school, can already hit a baseball, play catch, shoot a basketball, and "slide" into home. As a family we like to spend time with friends in our neighborhood playing games and riding on our toys, we like to cook together, we enjoy watching football and baseball, and we love to dance and be silly! As a family we root for the Georgia Bulldogs during football season, for the UNC Tarheels during basketball season, and the Braves during baseball season. Nolan's favorite time of the day is bedtime because he loves to read stories and sing before we go to sleep. Why Primrose? Where do we start? We knew Primrose was the place for us at our first tour only a few months before Nolan was born! Mary, Madeline and Elizabeth were wonderful and accommodating to us and ALL of our questions. The school is bright, organized, safe and clean. It's clear that in addition to his education, he's also learning about kindness, thankfulness, community, accountability, and many other qualities we wanted to instill in our son. We knew that Nolan's school would be an invaluable part of our "tribe" with people we trust, and Primrose has been one of the BEST decisions we've made. Our family is grateful each day to be able to send him to such a wonderful place.

Primrose Parents Receive Special Surprise for Working Parents Day

Our Primrose parents are doing a great job! To celebrate Working Parents Day on September 16, we wanted to show our parents just how much we (and their children) appreciate them by providing a grab-and-go breakfast served by our Pre-K mentor students. Children then dressed as little chefs and distributed a much-deserved homemade dinner at pick-up. We ended the day sharing heartfelt videos and photos of our students explaining why they love their parents. Primrose schools around the country are doing similar acts of appreciation for parents as part of a national effort by Primrose to take on parent guilt. Parent guilt is real — moms and dads, despite doing their best, often feel like they’re not doing enough for their children. Primrose wants parents to feel supported and celebrated as they focus on raising caring, compassionate children, Check out these amazing videos and resources to encourage parents everywhere to #LetGuiltGo. We’re honored to be a partner to our wonderful Primrose parents and are so proud of the kindness and generosity we see and nurture in their children every day.

"Caroline started at Primrose when she was about 4 months old in the infant room and she’s now about to turn 3! We originally found Primrose as a recommendation from our friends and neighbors who already had their sons enrolled there and were very happy. We’ve enjoyed watching Caroline learn and grow at Primrose. From the video of her first wobbly run across the older infant room to her favorite teacher Miss T. She loves her classmates and that’s even how she’s started to learn her letters – K is for Kennedy, M is for Miles, etc. It has been great getting to know the other families there and Caroline has play dates with her friends outside of school as well. She also participates in extracurricular activities like Dance, Gym Bus and N Zone Sports and it adds to her overall development. A big thank you to all her teachers, directors and staff at Primrose!"

"Hayden has been at Primrose since she was 3 months old. We visited several Preschools in the area but none of them gave us the feeling we had when we walked into Primrose the first time. We’ve never once felt our children were not loved and taken care of at Primrose. All the teachers, directors and staff have been nothing but wonderful to us and our children. You can tell both kids feel safe and at home when they are at Primrose. Austin is flourishing and about to go into the Early Preschool class while Hayden has progressed and will be starting Kindergarten in a couple weeks. We don’t worry at all that she is not prepared for this next step in her journey. Both children have thrived because of the loving environment and curriculum that Primrose has to offer. We can’t thank everyone at Primrose enough for everything and are so fortunate to be a part of the Primrose family!"

We are the Marschke Family: Todd, Kate, Lauren (11), Davis (9), and Owen (5). Todd is a Principal with Gwinnett County Public Schools, working with kids in grades 6- 12 at the GIVE Center West. Kate is a Senior Manager in Learning & Development at Verizon. Our two eldest children attend Simpson Elementary, and our youngest is in the 5K program at Primrose. As Lauren moves on to Pinckneyville Middle next year, Owen will join Davis at Simpson. He can't wait to ride the bus with his big brother. With three active kids, we keep a very busy! Lauren is active in ALTA and USTA tennis, volleyball and youth group. Davis has a brown belt in taido karate and is a rabid sports fan--- ALL sports! Owen has just started karate as well, and just passed his first belt test. As a family, we are anxiously waiting for the start of college football season so we can root on our beloved Georgia: Gooooooooo Dawgs! Sic'em! :) Our chapter at Primrose is coming to a close this month, after eleven (11!) amazing years. We visited several local childcare providers before Lauren was born. We wanted a facility that could grow with our family-- from infant care, to preschool, to Pre-K and/or Private Kindergarten. From the moment we walked in the door at Primrose School of Peachtree Corners, we knew we found the right place for our family. The care and love our children received, beginning as infants, made it an easy choice. The strong academics and foundational skills built have more than prepared all of our children for the rigors of elementary school. We have loved our experience here, and will miss our Primrose Family...because that's what they have been to all of us!

Daddy Daughter Dance & Dance Class

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Pre-K and Kindergarten dads joined their daughters for ballet class held in one of our classrooms. For the big night, dads and daughters ate dinner at a nearby restaurant then caravanned to the school for a night of fun activities. Girls made corsages and necklaces with their dads, posed at the photo booth and then danced the night away! Visit our Facebook page for more pictures of these fun events!
