Primrose School would love to meet your family.
Schedule A TourMithra is passionate about nurturing your child’s education—a trait she learned from her father back in India. “My father was a leading pediatrician in my home state in South India,” says Mithra. “He saved a school that was poised to close and created a foundation to re-open it which helped give many of the city’s underprivileged youth a place to learn. Thousands of children have since graduated, gone on to college and broken their family’s cycle of poverty.”
Mithra—who has called Kansas City home for nearly 37 years—says opening her school is a “full-circle moment. I want to give back to my community. As a young parent myself once, I know the challenges parents face when they look for a safe and nurturing environment where their children can thrive,” she says.
With a double master’s in English Literature and Business Administration from KU, Mithra co-owned an IT consulting business for more than 18 years. Now, she’s excited to serve parents and their children in the beautiful suburbs of Kansas City, MO and Lee's Summit. “As an accredited leader in early education and care, we want to partner with parents to help children build the right foundation for future learning and life,” says Mithra. “Our goal? To help children have fun while building active minds, healthy bodies and happy hearts. I believe that 0-5 years are the most formative years of a child’s life. We want to nurture them and help them fully prepared for their future education—and for life itself.”
For Mithra, she’s determined to ensure your child is inspired to learn at Primrose. “It’s our Balanced Learning Approach® — which means we balance purposeful play along with nurturing guidance to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion so that your children can achieve their true potential. As our tagline says, ‘Who children become is as important as what they know.’ I’m taking that to heart. My father would be proud.”

At Primrose, your child will get more than an infant daycare experience. Our teachers help your child develop and grow, building one skill upon another, which is why we are the leader in infant child care.
-The Maevers Family- Hello, we are the Maevers family! Trey, Catherine, Liam & Everett. Our son Liam (4 almost 5) started Primrose in 2020 and will be attending Primrose Kindergarten this month. Liam enjoys watching all the Marvel movies and dressing up in costumes at home and playing with his Transformers. He is a great big brother and a huge help to mommy when daddy is away for the National Guard. Everett (2) started Primrose in 2021 in the infant room. Everett really enjoys playing with big brother and is very fearless with a big imagination. He loves to play outside, especially with Rosie, our golden doodle. Both boys have been loved so well by Primrose teachers and staff, we can't imagine a better school! It provides such a relief to us that they are cared for and in a safe environment. Trey and Catherine both work for Honeywell FM&T. Trey is also an Officer and Company Commander for his National Guard unit out of Missouri and will be going on his third deployment next year. As a family we enjoy going to the pool, having family movie nights with popcorn and taking walks around the neighborhood!
Our Balanced Learning® approach weaves in character development and life skills into daily learning experiences because we believe who children become is as important as what they know.
To better meet the individual needs of every child, we’re proud to implement Ages & Stages Questionnaires® (ASQ®-3 and ASQ®:SE-2) in Primrose schools across the country.
Our new exclusive Harmony & Heart® program integrates our proprietary music and books in a variety of thoughtful ways each day. Through learning about music, while simultaneously being exposed to concepts in math, language, and character development, your child will grow as a musician, a student, and a person.
Each Primrose school is held to high standards of safety and cleanliness while maintaining a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
There’s no question that parents want their preschoolers to grasp the basics of colors, numbers and letters to foster a lifetime of learning.
It might seem odd to think about your preschooler exploring data analysis and algebra.
It's a fact: children learn better when they are engaged. That's why purposeful play and nurturing guidance from teachers are key components of Balanced Learning. See how this time-tested approach with a strong emphasis on life skills and character development can help your child develop and excel.
