Our Explorer program is designed to nurture Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® in children starting at five years old. Your child can relax, make friends, get homework help and continue to learn while having fun as they explore creative expression, sports, technology, drama, music, games and more.

Health & Safety
Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
- Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
- Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
- Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
- Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
- Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
- Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
- Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
- Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Ms. Shai
I’m Ms. Shai, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I live in Carrboro, NC with my son, Santana. I also have 2 bonus sons, Aviyan and Jah’Quin.
I have been working in childcare for over 10 years. My favorite age group is Pre-K to School-Age, but I enjoy working with all ages of children! I enjoy working with kids and seeing how much knowledge they soak in throughout the year. Fun fact, I have a hairless cat named Anni.

Ms. Sumaya
I’m Ms. Sumaya, and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I was born in Utah, however as a child of a military family, my brother and I grew up traveling all over the world, including Guam, Texas, Japan and Germany.
I met my husband while living in Japan, and we now live here in Durham, NC with our Boxer named Yeti. I began my career in childcare 5 years ago while living in Japan. I worked with children & various youth programs while in the Air Force.
I can’t wait to learn more about you and your family.
Education Background: High School Diploma. Working towards an Associates degree in General Studies.
My Favorite Thing About Working with Children: Performing Science & STEM experiments with School aged children and seeing them learn new things
