Meet Nick and Samina Kurji, proud new Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Pleasanton. Impressed by the quality of education Primrose provides, the Kurjis are thrilled with the opportunity to bring the first Primrose school to the Tri-Valley community and to the state of California. A family friend first introduced Nick and Samina to Primrose while they were living in Dallas. During a vacation in California, the Kurjis noticed a high demand for premium early education options in the Bay Area. Their passion for education and desire to bring the Primrose Experience to more families motivated the long-time Dallas residents to relocate to Pleasanton. As parents, we understand the importance of instilling a love of learning during a child’s early years, and we believe this is essential to building a new generation of bright citizens, says Nick. After learning about the unmatched curriculum, teaching methods and passion of those involved with Primrose, we quickly became avid supporters of the brand and we are committed to providing the Tri-Valley community with the best child care experience possible. Nick is a proven business owner, previously operating retail stores nationwide. Samina earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree but chose to stay home with their three children to play a full-time role in their development. She also enjoys practicing Kenpo karate, in which she has earned a first degree black belt. Nick and Samina will both be involved in daily operations of the new Pleasanton school, the first of several schools the Kurjis plan to open in California. Along with a strong background in business, Nick and Samina are very involved in community service. The family’s ultimate goal is to help less fortunate families find ways to provide their children the quality early education they deserve. Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?
Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and first–aid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.
What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?
Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.
How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?
All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*

We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm.

What is the difference between Primrose's Transitional Kindergarten and California's public TK program?
Primrose’s Transitional Kindergarten is a private program designed for children who miss the kindergarten age cutoff or would benefit from more time before starting kindergarten. It’s part of Primrose’s Balanced Learning curriculum and included in tuition.
California’s public TK is different: it’s a free grade offered through public schools. As of the 2026-27 school year, a child who turns 4 by September 1 qualifies for public TK, with no income limit and no cost. This became available to all four-year-olds statewide starting in the 2025-26 school year, an expansion under California’s Universal Prekindergarten initiative.
Families choosing between the two are usually weighing a free public option against a private program with different hours, group sizes, and curriculum. Contact the school to discuss which fits your child.
Does Primrose Pleasanton offer a coding program for kids?
Yes. Primrose Pleasanton runs “Coding with Megy,” a 12-week program in the Transitional Kindergarten classroom that introduces coding concepts through screen-free, hands-on activities like acting out coding steps and programming simple robots.
Is Primrose a Montessori school? What's the difference?
No. Primrose Pleasanton is not a Montessori school. It uses Balanced Learning, a curriculum developed exclusively for Primrose Schools that blends teacher-guided lessons with child-initiated play.
Montessori programs typically use mixed-age classrooms with self-paced, hands-on work. Primrose groups children by age and follows a more structured daily schedule.
Is Primrose Pleasanton convenient for families in Dublin?
Primrose Pleasanton is located right off I-680 on Koll Center Parkway, near the Alameda County Fairgrounds and Hearst Elementary School. Dublin sits just next to Pleasanton, and families from Dublin find it a convenient drive.

What can I expect from the Infant classroom at Primrose Pleasanton?
At this age, your infant is mainly learning through observation and exploration. Teachers talk and sing with your child during feeding, diaper changes, and playtime, nurturing interactions that build early language and conversation skills.

What security and safety measures are in place at drop-off and pick-up?
Primrose Pleasanton follows the brand’s standard health and safety protocols, including a Safe School Plan posted in every classroom and staff trained in CPR and first aid.

What is your policy when a child is sick?
