  • Kim Patterson, Training Facilitator

    Kim Patterson

    Training Facilitator

    Kim Patterson graduated from James Madison University with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.

    She joined the Primrose family in 2003 as a Kindergarten teacher, and transitioned to the role of Director in 2006. After serving as the school Director for over eight years, she decided to accept a new role as the Training Coordinator for the Primrose School of Twin Hickory and the Primrose School at Westerre Commons. In this new role, she is able to use her experience to educate the teaching staff at both schools.

    In her spare time, she enjoys baking with her daughter and watching her son play golf. She also enjoys exercising, going to concerts, and spending time with friends.

  • Janice Budlong, Operations Facilitator

    Operations Facilitator

    Janice Budlong was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She graduated from a small state school in Lancaster, PA with a bachelor's degree in Psychology.

    In 2010, she joined the team at the Primrose School at Westerre Commons. After serving in the role as Director for 3 years, she moved with her husband to the Charlottesville area to support his career. In 2019, her family returned to the Richmond area. She decided to accept a new role as the Operations Facilitator for the Primrose School of Twin Hickory and the Primrose School at Westerre Commons. In this new role, she is able to use her skill set to work alongside the teachers in the classroom and the management staff at both locations.

    Before having a family of her own, she served in the role of a surrogate for a dear friend who could not have a child of her own. It was during that time that she grew passionate about how different families are formed. Since that time, she and her husband have had the privilege to grow their family to include 2 sons, Russell and Rider, and daugher Rowan. They feel so fortunate that they can be a part of the Primrose family.

    In her spare time, you will find her active in the adoption community. She feels so blessed that her story includes adoption. As a result, she would like to support the adoption triad in Virginia communities.

    Teacher, Infant Classroom

    Ms. Middleton was born in Lynchburg, VA, but has spent most of her life in Richmond, VA. She studied Criminal Justice at John Tyler Community College, but found that childcare was her true love. She is currently enrolled at J Sargeant Reynolds Community College, working towards a degree in Early Childhood Education.

    She has been a part of the Primrose Family since 2003. She started off as an Explorer teacher, Summer Camp Director, and spent time in the Pre-K classroom. Currently, she is delighted to be a part of the Infant classroom team. She believes children are a true blessing and she loves watching them grow.

    In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She loves to write, paint, and do anything outdoors, such as fishing, camping, and grilling the worlds best cheeseburger!


  • Ms. Navarro, School-wide Support Teacher

    School-wide Support Teacher

    Ms. Navarro was born in Atlicxico Pue, Mexico, but grew up in New York!

    Her love and passion for children began as a cook at The Primrose School of Twin Hickory. She continued her journey in childcare while working at Primrose in the Toddler and Young Toddler classrooms. After exploring other opportunities, she has rejoined the Primrose team in the role of a school-wide support teacher. This gives her the opportunity to spend time with all of the children in the school.

    In her spare time, she enjoys being with her family, especially her granddaughter! Also, she enjoys crafts and baking!

  • Ms. Dodson, Lead Young Toddler Teacher

    Ms. Dodson

    Lead Young Toddler Teacher

    Ms. Dodson was born in Richmond, but ultimately grew up and settled down with her family in the Northern Neck of Virginia.

    She has over 24 years of experience in childcare, working with children ranging from the infants to school agers. Her favorite age group is older infants and toddlers.

    In her spare time, Ms. Dodson enjoys traveling and being at the beach. She loves being a mom and a grandmother!

  • Ms. Moyers

    Young Toddlers Support Teacher

    Ms. Moyers is originally from Pittsburg but has lived and worked all over before finally settling in Virginia. She graduated from Appalachian State University, located in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. She has worked outdoors teaching all ages for the past 12 years. The last 2 years she has spent working in preschools and has really enjoyed it.

    In her free time she enjoys getting outside. She enjoys hiking, camping, and caring for her many animals, which include 2 snakes, 2 turtles, 2 mice, and 2 dogs.

  • Ms. Stovall, Toddler Teacher

    Toddler Teacher

    Ms. Stovall was born and raised in Goochland, Virginia. She has been part of the Primrose team since May of 2018 as a teacher in the Toddler classroom, and now the Preschool classroom. She has an Associates Degree in Elementary Education and is currently continuing her education at Liberty University, majoring in Elementary Education.

    She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her parents, two younger siblings, two dogs, two cats, and a lot of chickens!

    Lead Teacher, Pre-Kindergarten 1 Classroom

    Ms. Taylor grew up in Washington D.C. She moved to Richmond in 2007, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

    Before joining the Primrose family, Ms. Taylor worked as a counselor and site leader for a school aged program. She has held her current position as Lead Pre-K teacher since starting at Primrose in April of 2017. She enjoys helping her Pre-K students develop their social skills and independence and loves to see them gain confidence throughout the school year.

    In her spare time, she enjoys roller skating in a competitive league.

    Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

    Ms. Epstein was born and raised in Worcestershire, England!

    After graduating high school, she started working as a nanny which brought her to America as an Au Pair. That is how she met her husband. They have been married for 20 years and have two sons. As a family, they have been very fortunate to live in Italy, England, and Germany. They are now back in Virginia and ready to settle down together. She joined the Primrose family in October of 2017 and have been working with the Pre-Kindergarten students ever since.

    In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and baking. She has been told that her chocolate chip cookies rank among the best in Richmond!

    Angela and Steve Richter, Heather and Bobby Moore

    Franchise Owners

    Angela and Steve Richter and Heather and Bobby Moore are the owners of the Primrose School of Twin Hickory and the Primrose School at Westerre Commons. Friends since their college days, the two couples take a hands-on approach to managing the schools. Owning the Primrose Schools gave both couples the perfect opportunity to focus their professional efforts on providing a meaningful service to their local communities while making a very positive impact on the lives of their employees.

    Angela and Steve Richter moved to Richmond after graduating from Virginia Tech, and now live in Glen Allen with their 2 children. Angela earned a BS degree in Human Nutrition and Foods from Virginia Tech. She manages the foodservice program, helping Primrose students build healthy eating habits. Angela is also responsible for marketing and enrollment at both locations. Steve earned a BS degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Duke University. After a career in accounting and finance, Steve now serves as our business and finance manager, working behind the scenes to ensure things run smoothly.

    Heather and Bobby Moore live in Hanover County with their 3 children. Heather earned a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from Virginia Tech and a MEd degree in Reading from the University of Virginia. She taught in the public school system for 13 years. Heather is responsible for staff training, licensure and accreditation, and curriculum implementation. Bobby grew up in Powhatan and attended James Madison University. After a career working in the agricultural benchmarking industry, Bobby now oversees the facilities management and information technology programs at both Primrose schools.
