Research shows that children who have mastered basic early literacy skills by the time they enter Kindergarten have more success in reading throughout elementary school and beyond.
Star Early Literacy is a nationally renowned adaptive, technology-based assessment that assesses a child’s early literacy and numeracy skills and also indicates whether they are progressing at a rate to be ready for Kindergarten.For school year 2019-2020, Star Early Literacy set the benchmark for Kindergarten Readiness as 530, which means if the child scored higher than 530, she/he has the basic skills and the confidence to embrace all the excitement and challenges she/he will be facing in the Kindergarten program.
Each school year, Preschool and Pre-K children at Primrose School of Willow Glen will participate in three assessment cycles. The year-end testing window has officially completed for Star Early Literacy at our school, and we want to share these outstanding results of our students with you:
