Kelly and Marti Davis

Hello, we are Kelly and Marti Davis, proud owners of The Primrose School of Valley Ranch! We have been actively involved in our schools, providing nurturing child care and a strong educational foundation for children in the DFW area for nearly 25 years. After all these years, we still feel the passionate draw to serve parents and children, instilling a love of learning and giving back to the community, with our philosophy of “who children become is as important as what children know.”

We have been residents of Plano for 30 years, and are involved in area churches, charities and athletic endeavors. Our sons, Tad and Sean, graduated from Plano West and are involved in the family business along with their wives, Ashlee and Jessica. Three grandchildren are now proud Primrose students, too!

After 25 years in the retail business, we decided to give back to the community by offering excellent, educational childcare to the families of the DFW area in a way that was never available when we were working executives raising our boys. As young parents, we agonized over leaving our children in a setting that was less than perfect; it’s the hardest thing for parents to do, and we know that! We take pride in being able to offer exceptional early learning experiences and care to children in our community, and we are committed to delivering the best possible experience when it comes to your child’s education.

The leadership team and teachers in our schools are highly motivated, expertly trained, and loyal. They understand the importance of character development and instilling a love of learning throughout a child’s early years. The care they give our students is unmatched and will leave you with peace of mind while your children are in our care.

We are excited to provide the high-quality childcare and education necessary to prepare your children for future success in school and in life. Please come join us for the Primrose experience of a lifetime. We look forward to meeting you!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all staff members background-checked and CPR/first-aid certified?

Yes. Every Primrose staff member undergoes a thorough background check before joining our school. All staff are also CPR and firstaid certified, so you can feel confident your child is in safe, prepared hands every day.

What curriculum or educational philosophy do you follow?

Our school uses the proprietary Primrose Schools Balanced Learning® curriculum, which is research-informed and designed to nurture the whole child — intellectually, socially, emotionally and physically. We believe in balancing teacher-guided learning with purposeful play to build a strong foundation for the future.

How do you support school readiness and the transition to kindergarten?

All of our programs are designed in age-appropriate ways to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. We focus on early literacy and numeracy as well as social-emotional skill development — so children arrive at kindergarten confident and ready to thrive. 96% of Primrose Schools Pre-K students met ASQ benchmarks for problem solving.*

What are your hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 am-6:30 pm.

How do you keep parents informed about their child's day?

Connecting school to home is one of the ways we help children thrive. We use the Procare app to share daily updates and photos so you stay connected to your child’s joy, learning and special moments

Do you offer a summer program?

Yes! In addition to our year-round classrooms for children ages 0–5, we offer Summer Adventure Club for elementary school students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our summer program uses hands-on activities and rotating weekly themes to keep children engaged while continuing to support their development.

How do you accommodate children with allergies or special medical needs?

Health and safety is our top priorityand we work closely with families to accommodate allergies and medical needs. We ask that parents provide detailed information during enrollment so we can create a safe plan for their child. All Primrose schools are nut-free facilities.

What is your policy for school closures?

We follow a structured calendar with planned days off communicated in advance for the year. For any unexpected closures — including weather-related closures — we will communicate them as early as possible.

Can Primrose School of Valley Ranch accommodate dietary restrictions or cultural food preferences?

Yes! We understand that every family has unique dietary needs and preferences. Our school offers a vegetarian entrée option every day, and we work closely with families to support dietary restrictions whenever possible. We encourage families to discuss any dietary needs, cultural preferences, or food-related concerns with our leadership team so we can determine the best way to support your child.

We believe strong partnerships between families and teachers help children thrive. Throughout the year, families are invited to participate in classroom activities, special events, service projects, cultural celebrations, reading opportunities, and school traditions. We love welcoming families into our school community and creating meaningful experiences together – we even have a Dad’s Club who help make each event extra special!

What makes Primrose School of Valley Ranch different from other childcare programs?

Our Balanced Learning® approach combines purposeful play, teacher-guided instruction, character development, and nurturing care to help children develop Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®. We focus on the whole child while building strong partnerships with families and our community where we have proudly served for the last 16 years. You’ll find us at local Valley Ranch Association Events, City of Irving Events, and hosting our own events to give back to our wonderful community of Valley Ranch.

What safety and security measures are in place?

The safety of our students is our highest priority. Our school features secure building access, visitor management procedures, regular safety drills, and health and sanitation practices designed to create a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn and grow.

How do you help children transition into a new classroom or school environment?

We understand that transitions can be a big milestone for both children and families. Our teachers and leadership team work closely with families to help children feel comfortable, build relationships, and gain confidence as they adjust to their new classroom environment.

Do you offer an accredited Kindergarten program?

Yes! Primrose School of Valley Ranch proudly offers a fully accredited private Kindergarten program. Children who graduate from our Kindergarten program are well prepared for first grade and beyond, both academically and socially. Our Kindergarten students benefit from small class sizes, individualized attention, and a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, leadership, and a lifelong love of learning.

How do you ensure each child receives individualized attention?

One of the ways we support each child’s growth is by maintaining teacher-to-student ratios that meet or exceed state requirements. Our commitment to smaller classroom groupings allows teachers to build strong relationships with students, tailor learning experiences, and provide the individualized guidance children need to thrive.

Do you offer extracurricular activities or enrichment programs?

Yes! We offer a variety of optional enrichment programs throughout the year to provide students with additional opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills. Current offerings include Soccer Shots, Dance Stars, and Mr. MusicMan, each led by experienced instructors who visit our school each week.

Can I schedule a tour?

Absolutely! We encourage families to visit our school, meet our teachers, and experience our learning environment firsthand. Tours can be scheduled online or by contacting our leadership team directly at 972-444-9500.

What makes Primrose School of Valley Ranch unique from other Primrose Schools?

At Primrose School of Valley Ranch, we’re more than a school – we’re a community. Through our Balanced Learning® approach, accredited Kindergarten program, strong family partnerships, dedicated teachers, and commitment to character development, we create an environment where children feel safe, supported, and inspired to learn.

Many of our families stay with us for years, building lasting relationships and becoming an important part of our school community. We are proud to provide a place where children can develop Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts® while creating memories that last a lifetime.

Lots of schools can say they have curriculum, security, and qualified teachers. Not every school can genuinely say they have:

  • Families volunteering at events
  • Dad committees grilling at Spring Fling
  • Parents leading CRNA presentations
  • Explorers visiting local assisted living communities
  • Families supporting Community Partners of Dallas
  • Teachers staying for 16+ years

The culture we’ve built is something we believe families can’t easily find elsewhere, and we hope you feel the difference from the moment you enter our school. We are proud to serve our community, and look forward to serving more and more families who choose to call Valley Ranch home!

Our family would love to meet yours.
