Schedule A TourMrs. Yang is our amazing Director! Originally from Banning California, She has worked in childcare since 2002. In 2005 She started at Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway as a Preschool teacher, and has served in so many different capacities including Toddler teacher, Early Preschool teacher, and Curriculum Coordinator before being promoted to Director.
Mrs. Yang is known for being punctual, professional, and dependable. As a teacher she was amazing and prepared busy groups of students every day, and took them far beyond our expectations. Laughter and music were a commonplace occurrence in her classroom, which was further demonstrated by Mrs. Yang’s favorite quote, “live, laugh, learn: live to the fullest, laugh even when you don’t want to, and learn all that there is to know!”. As Director, she leads with integrity, passion and a commitment to excellence each and every day.
Ms. Smith is originally from Decatur, GA. She has been in childcare since 2012. Her favorite food is jerk chicken pasta. Ms. Smith’s favorite weekend activity is painting and taking dance classes. She enjoy artistic pursuits on the weekends. Her favorite children’s books are Corduroy and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. She relates most to Billy the Duck because she believe that promises are sacred and you should uphold your word. She is super excited about joining the Primrose Team and serving a diverse group of students. A quote that resonates with her is “Have courage and be kind,” Cinderella 2018. She like this quote because she respects those who have the courage to standup for their beliefs and to lead with kindness.
Ms. Downing’s hometown is Trenton, New Jersey. She loves Mexican food. Her favorite weekend activity is ‘brunch.” Her favorite children’s book is Love You to the Moon and Back. The Primrose character she most relates to is Ally the Bunny because she loves to keep her mind active. She is mostly excited about watching the children grow beyond expectations. Her favorite quote is “Trust in the Lord and Don’t Be Afraid.”
Chef Reid is originally from Macon, GA. She has a passion for cooking healthy foods. She also loves working around children so feels she has the best of both worlds as our Primrose chef. Her favorite weekend activity is dancing. Chef Reid enjoys the book Snow White. The Primrose character she most closely relates to is Mia the Mouse because like Mia, she enjoys exercising. Ms. Reid is excited to have the opportunity to preparing delicious lunch and snacks for our Primrose students. Her favorite quote is “Just be yourself.”
Originally from Buford, Georgia, Ms. Hardy has been an educator since 1986. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Clark Atlanta University where she pledged the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Ms. Hardy enjoys going to Falcon and Hawks games, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with her family and friends. She is a loving mother as well as a dedicated educator whose philosophy is, “Children learn best in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment.” The Primrose friend she most relates to is Og because she loves to read and to teach her Primrose children new words. Ms. Hardy is looking forward to having a wonderful, fun-filled and educational year with all of her Primrose children
Ms. Irving’s hometown is Villa Rica, Georgia. Her favorite food is pasta. Her favorite weekend activity is arts and craft. Her favorite children’s book is One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. The Primrose character she most relates to is Benjamin the Bear because she love playing outdoor too. She is mostly excited about making meaningful connections and relationships with her students. Her favorite quote is “If you don’t trust yourself, trust in something.”
Mrs. Martinez is originally from Columbia. She has been working in the early childhood field since 2002 and with Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway since 2007. Mrs. Martinez most relates with Primrose friend, "Mia the Mouse" as she loves the outdoors and staying active. She enjoys going to the park on the weekends. Her favorite dish is lasagna. Her favorite quote is “No one knows what they have until they have lost it!”
Ms. Moffatt was born and raised right here in Lawrenceville, GA. Her favorite food is pizza. Ms. Moffatt enjoys playing with her nephew and niece during her free time. Her favorite children’s book is If You Give A Mouse A Cookie. The Primrose character she most relates to is Katie the cat because she likes to help her Primrose students learn how to share and take turns. She is excited about the new school year and watching her Primrose children thrive in all aspects of their development. Her favorite quote is “If you can dream it, you can do it.”
Ms. Nickerson’s hometown is Barnstable, Massachusetts. Her favorite food is lobster ravioli. Her favorite weekend activity is watching football. Her favorite children’s book is Tikki Tikki Tembo. The Primrose character she most relates to is Libby the Lamb because she gives everyone a turn to speak, making sure each finds a voice. She is mostly excited about witnessing the children making new discoveries. Her favorite quote is "Whatever you choose to do, leave tracks. That means don't do it just for yourself. You will want to leave the world a little better for your having lived."
Ms. Ceraso’s hometown is in Bethlehem, Georgia. Her favorite foods are Mexican and Italian dishes, as well as Chick-fil-a. Her favorite weekend activity is spending time with her family or hiking. Her favorite children’s book is It’s a Small World After All. The Primrose character she most relates to is Katie the Cat because she is cooperative like Katie. She is mostly excited this school year about getting to know all her amazing students and helping teach them new things! Her favorite quote is “Laughter is timeless, imagination has no age, dreams are forever.”
Ms. Wright’s hometown is Jamaica. Her favorite food is oxtails, fish and veggie pasta. Her favorite weekend activity is net ball, reading and singing. Her favorite children’s book is Teeth are not for Biting. The Primrose character she most relates to is Benjamin the Bear because she loves playing outdoor too. She is mostly excited about helping the children to learn different things every day. Her favorite quote is “Be active At All Times.”
Ms. Oliver’s hometown is Lawrenceville, Georgia. Her favorite food is pasta. Her favorite weekend activity is family time. Her favorite children’s book is Chrysanthemum. The Primrose character she most relates to is Erwin the Dog because she likes to make new friends. She is mostly excited about meeting her new students and parents. Her favorite quote is “The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”
Ms. Arbona’s resides in Lawrenceville, GA. Her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite weekend activity is visiting parks with her family. Her favorite children’s book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? The Primrose character she most relates to is Og the Bookworm because she loves to read. She is most excited this school year about getting to know her students. Her favorite quote is “Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today.”
Ms. Ramsey’s hometown is Hartwell, Georgia. Her favorite food are buffalo wings. Her favorite weekend activity is spending quality time with family and friends. Her favorite children’s book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Primrose character she most relates to is Katie the Cat because she is cooperative like Katie. She is mostly excited about getting to know the staff and children at Primrose.
Mrs. Diaz is originally from the Dominican Republic. Since beginning her career in early childhood education in 2007 she has gained experience working with all of the age groups. When asked which Primrose Friend she most relates to her response was "Og the Bookworm" because she LOVES to read! She enjoys watching sports over the weekend.
Ms. Gilkes’s hometown is Brooklyn, New York. She enjoys eating fast food. Her favorite weekend activity is watching Netflix. Her favorite children’s book is Eloise! The Primrose character she most relates to is Libby the Lamb because she gives everyone a turn to speak, making sure each finds a voice. She is mostly excited about getting to know the children and parents. Her favorite quote is Curiosity Killed the Cat, but Satisfaction Brought Him Back.
Ms. Muhammad’s hometown is Stone Mountain, Georgia. Her favorite food is pizza. Her favorite weekend activity is arts and crafts. Her favorite children’s book is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The Primrose character she most relates to is Katie the Cat because she is cooperative like Katie. She is mostly excited about watching her children develop new skill sets and knowledge throughout the year. Her favorite quote is “Time heals and heels hurt to walk in.”
Mr. McLellan’s hometown is Dillon, South Carolina. His favorite food is any noodle house and hot wings. His favorite weekend activity is spending time with his son and traveling. His favorite children’s book is The Rainbow Fish. The Primrose character he most relates to is Percy the Rooster because Percy has a big caring heart and provides leadership to others by setting an example of good character. Mr. McLellan is mostly excited about teaching the children all he has to offer and more. His favorite quote is “The Willing Will.”
Ms. Jakupovic is orginially from Bosnia. Her favorite food is steak and rice. Her favorite weekend activity is soccer with her boys. Her favorite children’s book is Pete the Cat. The Primrose Character she most relates to is Libby the Lamb because she gives everyone a turn to speak, making sure each finds a voice. She is most excited about witnessing the children make new discoveries, and growing in their relationships with each other and our teachers.
Ms. Turner has owned and operated Primrose School at Sugarloaf Parkway since they first opened their doors in 2003. She has been in education since 1986 and continues to love what she does! She can be "caught" loving on and playing with children (or teachers and parents) in classrooms at any given moment. She has taught all areas and age levels, but has a special place in her teaching heart for math and science. She has Bachelor's Degrees in Education and Sociology and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. Ms. Turner is very active in her church and she and her husband lead the church's marriage ministry called Married.4.Life. She is also a certified Yoga Instructor. Ms. Turner is also a former Primrose Parent and proud Mom to three awesome young men who were all Primrose students. Ms. Turner considers herself to be a lifetime learner and encourages everyone to do the same. She loves giving "homework" to parents and teachers of our school, so beware! She likes everyone to be in "think and create mode". She loves to listen to all types of music, visit museums and practice yoga. She is an avid reader and loves a great "book talk". She loves to travel, try new foods, experience different cultures and has been all over the world enjoying meeting people from different walks of life. She is a proud graduate of the class of 2007 and active alumni of Leadership Gwinnett, through the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Gwinnett County Alumnae Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and loves to talk "Delta" with the Sisters who have their children in our school. One of the many favorite quotes she has (and she has many) is "It's not the duration of your life, but the donation of it. Not how long you lived, but how you lived."(From the Purpose Driven Life). Another favorite quote is "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would not have a single bit of talent left, and I could say "I have used everything You gave me".
