With almost two decades in Early Childhood Education, my enthusiasm and love for children has always played a major role in my life. My career began 19 years ago in Waco, Texas, where I worked as an assistant preschool teacher for the Tennyson Playcare. Although I’ve always adored children, this job really ignited a spark. I wanted to learn more about how children develop and learn. As I focused on expanding my knowledge, I obtained my degree and certifications in Early Childhood Education and Care. Meanwhile, I enthusiastically pushed forward in my career. I went on to become a Lead Teacher, Master Teacher, Assistant Director, Parent Partnership Coordinator, and most recently, Principal of a Private School in Broken Arrow. Each and every role brought on something new, giving me a well-rounded, multi-faceted perspective. Although each was unique in its own responsibilities, all of these roles danced around one central theme: a deep love and burning passion for the education of young children.
I am in education because, for me, it's the most effective and most enjoyable way to change the world. That's the bottom line; this world needs change, and this is how I choose to make my impact. Early Childhood Administration allows me to work with precious hearts and minds. It allows me to guide and empower our youngsters to become literate, engaged, and creative human beings who care passionately about the world they live in.
Aside from working as a Childhood Education Professional, I am also a wife and mother. I have a wonderful husband named Josh, and a sweet six year-old daughter named Jordyn. The three of us truly enjoy spending time together as a family, especially when we are cheering on our beloved OSU COWBOYS (sorry Sooner fans)!!!
It is an absolute honor to serve as Head of School, and I look forward to getting to know each and every family member that becomes a part of the Primrose School of South Tulsa.
