Information Caring and Giving: A New Record, over 7,000 lbs of Food Donated!

Our school is making a difference in the community through our Caring and Giving Food Drive! This year, we donated over 7,000 lbs of food to Metropolitan Ministries, a nonprofit that supports homeless families in the Tampa Bay area.

As one of our annual Primrose Promise℠ Giving Events, the Caring and Giving Food Drive provides an opportunity for children to learn the joy of giving without expecting firsthand. During the month of November, Preschool and Pre-K students practice responsibility by earning money for the food items through age-appropriate chores at home. The children then use math, nutrition and planning skills in a hands-on way – they combine their money and count it, learn how to plan healthy meals and create shopping lists.

At Primrose, we believe who children become is as important as what they know. The Caring and Giving Food Drive is just one example of how we nurture important character traits and help instill compassion and a desire to give back in children.
