Hello! My name is Riana, and I am the new Director of Education/Coach at Primrose School of Silicon Forest. My background includes Child & Family Studies, Native American Studies and Early Childhood Education at Portland State University in downtown Portland.
I have been in the ECE field for about 15 years. I am a firm believer that a child’s first introduction to education begins at infancy and it is so important as educators to make that an impactful experience. It is during these early ages where we are able to introduce wonderful experiences that promote learning exploring, guidance and love.
My career journey has taken me from being a teacher , a lead teacher, Assistant Director to a Director. I have enjoyed all these experiences and am passionate about working with our teachers and administration to provide world class experience to our children, parents and staff.
When I am not working I enjoy traveling. My most recent out of country trip was Ireland and I fell in love with it’s charm and beauty. My other free time hobbies include road trips with my pup and friends searching for fun beaches, playing Fascination at the Seaside arcade, watching movies and spending as much time as I can with my huge family. I also enjoy exploring new places in Oregon with my camera in tow. Currently, I am making my way on the Covered Bridge tour— and it has not disappointed.
I look forward to getting to know each of you and your children and I am very excited to learn and grow the Primrose way.

Meet Piyoosh and Neha Jalan, proud multi-unit Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Livermore and Silicon Forest. The Jalans are longtime residents of the Bay Area and have been operating Primrose School of Livermore for multiple years and are excited to bring the high-quality Primrose Experience to Hillsboro/Silicon Forest families. Mr. Jackie Jones will be the resident Executive Director making sure we are delivering high quality Primrose experience to our families on a consistent basis.
Neha and Piyoosh discovered the need for high-quality early education in their area when they had their first daughter, Ishita in 2008. “When we had Ishita, we could not find one facility that had the combination of a nurturing, loving environment and the balanced learning we wanted for our daughter,” Neha said.
As a teacher herself with a background in early education, Neha took matters into her own hands. “I ended up leaving my teaching career and started my own home-based childcare for Bay Area families in 2008.”
In 2011, with the birth of their son, Samar, just a few months away, the Jalans decided to go one step further in helping Neha pursue her dreams by researching child care franchises. They flew to Houston to visit a Primrose School. “We were so impressed with the Primrose curriculum, infrastructure, philosophy and culture that we instantly decided to become part of the Primrose family,” Piyoosh said.
While both Neha and Piyoosh are originally from India, though they grew up on opposite sides of the country. Piyoosh first came to America to attend college at Cornell University, and upon graduating with a master’s degree in Computer Science he decided to stay in the country. He moved to California in 2003 and began his career in Silicon Valley, working for companies that include IBM, Yahoo! and Microsoft. Meanwhile, Neha earned a degree in Information Technology from Manipal University in the technology hub of Hyderabad, India. Teaching has always been her passion, however, so after graduation she took a teaching position at one of the largest preschool franchises in India and had great success, earning a Teacher of the Year award in 2004.
“As a mother of two wonderful children, I understand how difficult it is to place your child in someone else's care,” Neha said. “Primrose School of Silicon Forest will always strive to be a home away from home. We will partner with parents in order to serve children with the same passion, care and love they see at home.”
Primrose School of Silicon Forest features the exclusive Balanced Learning® approach which blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance from teachers to encourage curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.
Please reach out to us to learn more about our school, and the outstanding curriculum and educational approach of Primrose brand. We are looking forward to meeting you!
