As we engage in our summer curriculum, we wanted to send you a sneak peak of what your lovely children engage in on a daily basis. Our daily lessons and Balanced Learning Curriculum consist of our Harmony and Heart Music program, Noggin Joggin which is our Big Ideas and Main themes of the day, Small Group Literacy Children's Choice Learning Centers which are enhanced with different subjects such as Writing, Art, Blocks, Reading, Science and Sensory, Math and Dramatic Play. We then have Project Time, Thumbs Up which is our physical development and outdoor plan, and small group math.We then end the day with our Reflections of the Day and Choice Learning Times.
This week the Unit of Learning was: Zoop! Zoop! We Love Soup! Their main focus was based around the story of Stone Soup. They created a stone soup recipe, talked about sharing, the letter S, created a soup recipe, reenacted Stone Soup and ended the week by making Stone Soup!
For project time this week the preschool classrooms focused on their five senses. Observing, smelling, touching and tasting different types of vegetables!
For their small group math times they focused on: Sorting vegetables, food texture sorting, sorting games and sorting with a friend.
