Health & Safety Practices in Place

Health Checks

  • Adhere to guidance from the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (https://cdphe.colorado.gov/child-care-health-regulations) "How Sick is Too Sick?" for when children and staff should stay home from school. 
  • Evaluation of sick children & staff must consider which illnesses are currently circulating among students, staff, and the community.
  • Staff are trained on common signs of illness in children.
  • Visual reminders are placed throughout the school and in every classroom, as well as provided for families to keep symptoms of illness top of mind.

Healthy Hygienic Behavior

  • Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child, sanitized daily and laundered weekly or as needed.
  • Playground equipment limited in use to one classroom group at a time.
  • Visual safety reminders are placed throughout the school to keep healthy hygienic behavior top of mind.

Training & Planning

  • Continuous health & safety training by Primrose is attended by the Leadership Team and staff, including First Aid, CPR and Standard Precautions certifications.
  • An up-to-date and customized Safe School Plans are maintained and posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access.

Cleaning, Disinfection & Sanitation

  • Frequent cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing of high-touch toys, classroom equipment and surfaces with hospital-grade disinfectant throughout the day by our own staff.
  • Professional janitorial staff performs nightly hospital-grade cleaning.
