I cannot recall a time in my life when I did not care for children. As early as my teen years I was taking care of the neighborhood children and planning to be a school teacher. As it turned out I found myself a stay at home mom with three pre-school children. In an attempt to find sanity in my life I discovered a Kids Day Out child care program where I could work part time and my children would receive the social interaction we all desperately needed. It did not take long for me to fall in love with my first classroom of four-year-old eager minds. I’d like to say I was a natural, but truthfully, I wish I knew then what I’ve learned over the past twenty five years about Early Childhood Education. My early classrooms benefited from a teacher who deeply cared for them, and that heart paired with the Primrose Balanced Learning Approach, created a perfect blend of personal and professional enjoyment. I am truly honored to bring my passion, knowledge, and experience to both Primrose School of Schertz and Primrose School at Bulverde Road. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of teaching in the classroom for almost every age group. I enjoyed four years working with Child Care Licensing to ensure the safety of children in childcare. I worked under a Head Start grant and supervised up to ten locations and six directors. I enjoyed working under the Texas Rising Star grant as a mentor to twelve facilities where I coached teachers and advised directors. In addition to completing a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education with a specialty in Social Sciences at Wayland Baptist University, I have been a Child Care Health Consultant, Texas Trainer, and CLASS observer. I was the Director at Primrose School of Schertz since their conception in 2016 and moved into the Executive Director role in 2023 for our Schertz and Bulverde Road locations. I bring my experience in the childcare field, many years in leadership, twenty five years of parenting and the same care and passion I’ve always held for children and education. We know learning begins from day one of life which is why we will give your infant to school age child an enriching learning environment for them to wonder, discover and explore their world alongside a caring teacher who will guide them to reach beyond their imagination. My goal is to ensure our schools deliver the wow for each of our families.
I hope to meet you soon,
Paige Lewis
Director at Schertz (2016-2023)

"Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn." - O. Fred Donaldson
Children have always been an important part of my life. I was fortunate to be able to stay at home with my kids while attending College and enjoyed the excitement and adventure they brought me every day. When my youngest daughter started Pre-Kindergarten it was hard for me to come to terms with not having the energetic mind-set of a 4 year old with me all day. I found my inspiration when I started my career path as a School Age teacher and loved the growth and knowledge I gained from all aspects of early childhood education. Over the next few years I had the pleasure to work with most age groups, and learned that every child thinks and learns differently. Soon I was promoted to an Assistant Director where I developed my role as a leader over the next 7 years and continued my education in Early Childhood Education. In 2019 an opportunity to join Primrose School of Schertz presented itself and after one conversation with Ms. Lewis there was no question I wanted to join the team. I loved the opportunity to mentor and motivate a creative team of teachers who provide the best and most trusted care and education for every child. I have enjoyed working alongside Ms. Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. O’Connor to fulfill our team's desire to nurture curiosity, confidence, creativity and compassion in every child. In 2023, I was given the opportunity to be the Director and made it a personal goal to develop parent partnerships and explore opportunities to make our home connection even stronger. I am committed to building trusted relationships with our parents, staff and children at Primrose School of Schertz.

My name is Regina Burpo. I have 10+ years in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theater Arts. What started as a Summer job has (after many years) turned into a lifetime of learning. From Infant Teacher to traveling Theater Teacher, this has been a wild journey. I love helping children explore the world around themselves through Music, Art and Motion. I strive to “Approach Each Day With Joy”- no matter what challenges arise. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and inspire those who care for and educate the children in our Primrose School.
Regina Burpo
Education Coach, Since 2021
My journey with Primrose School of Schertz began in 2019 as the School Age teacher. In 2020, I was suddenly tasked with managing a classroom full of children from Kinder- 4th grade, attending various schools, as we all learned to navigate a brand new virtual school day. Professionally, this was a challenge but I welcomed the opportunity. Shortly after, I was promoted to a newly created administrative assistant position to help with all the new demands during the pandemic. Primrose has been a wonderful place to grow professionally and for my son to get the best possible education and care. My passion has grown and inspired me to continue my studies toward a degree in Early Childhood Education. In 2023, I accepted the role of Communication Manager and have enjoyed developing and improving our parent communication and discovering new programs to partner with as part of our mission to serve our community. It is a pleasure to be the first to greet our parents and children each day and my goal is to connect with every adult and child with warmth and sincerity.

Meet Lawrence and Natalie O’Connor, proud owners of Primrose School of Schertz. Native Texans, they are thrilled to bring high-quality early education to the Schertz community.
Lawrence and Natalie were first introduced to Primrose through their good friends, Tommy and Anna Thompson, owners of Primrose School of Round Rock at Forest Creek and Primrose School of Pflugerville at Falcon Pointe. At the time, Lawrence and Natalie were still dating, but their shared love of education and learning brought them closer together. The couple was married in October of 2014 and quickly began looking for an entrepreneurial opportunity that would allow them to share their passion for education with their community. When they discovered there was a need for high-quality early education close to their San Antonio neighborhood, they immediately turned to the Thompsons to help them bring Primrose to the growing Schertz community.
“We wanted to give back to this great community we call home,” said Lawrence. “As we think about starting our own family, we really wanted to create a fun and nurturing environment where parents can feel good about leaving their children.”
Lawrence and Natalie have both enjoyed successful careers in the corporate world. Before becoming full-time Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Schertz, Natalie was a director with Workforce Solutions Alamo, a state and federally funded organization that helps people find jobs and administers training and support services to job seekers so that they can obtain and maintain employment, and Lawrence was a commercial real estate broker and partner at HPI Real Estate Services and Investments, leading the company’s San Antonio office.
With Natalie’s expertise in management, quality control and operations, and Lawrence’s sales, real estate and business development background, they believe they are an ideal match to achieve success within the Primrose Schools family. Lawrence and Natalie have always had a love of learning, one of the things that drew them to each other. Both graduated in the top 5 percent of their high school classes and both completed the prestigious Plan II Honors Degree at The University of Texas at Austin.
“We both come from families of educators, and we know how important education is, especially for young children,” said Natalie. “That’s why we are so excited to offer a caring and nurturing atmosphere at our school that fosters curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion."
In addition to their impressive education and career accomplishments, Lawrence and Natalie are also dedicated to community service. They are active volunteers at San Antonio Pets Alive, where Natalie serves on the board of directors. Natalie and Lawrence are also members of the Texas Biomedical Founder’s Council, an organization of community advocates and financial supporters of The Texas Biomedical Research Institute. And, Lawrence spent two and a half years serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia. They are committed to teaching the importance of servant leadership in their school.
Lawrence and Natalie welcomed their first child, a daughter, into their family in April 2020, and then welcomed their second child, a son, in March 2022.
